Honor Society – Fashionably Late

“Boy Bands” are nothing new. They are been around for years from the Backstreet Boys to N’Sync and from the Jonas Brothers to the original “boy band”, the Beatles.

Honor Society is a new up and coming “boy band”. I have to admit I think these guys are great! I have two ‘tweens and sometimes their music makes me cringe (I’m turning into my mother! Yikes!). However the Honor Society is actually music I can listen to with them and actually enjoy it. The tunes are catchy, the beats are great and better yet the lyrics don’t contain passages about sex, drugs and violence some some of today’s popular tunes to. Seriously, have you listened to the words of some of today’s songs. Oh my!

Honor Society is like a mix of Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, Savage Garden and of course the Jonas Brothers. Since they opened up for the Jonas Brothers when they were on tour this summer and the Jo Bros are credited as the executive producers.

The Honor Society boys are even burning up the charts on iTunes. Their songs have been featured in films too including BandSlam and Fame.

Here is a video of Honor Society singing “Where are you now?” from the BandSlam motion picture soundtrack.

Subscribers or those reading on RSS will have to come to the site to see the music video. “Where are you now?” is also on their CD, Fashionably Late.

When I do music reviews I always make it a point to mention my favorite songs. Honestly, there is not one song on this entire album that I don’t enjoy. Shh…don’t tell my kids but I sing along to the songs when I listen to the CD when I’m working at the computer or cleaning around the home.

If I must pick out some of my favorites, I’d have to say “Where are you now?” (of course), “Nobody has to know”, “See U in the Dark” and “Two Rebels”. Nah! I honestly love them all! LOL!

Honor Society’s new album Fashionably Late is available NOW where music is sold.

FINALLY music me, my kids and even my husband can enjoy together.

Harry Connick Jr. – Your Songs Review & Giveaway

Swoon…Harry Connick Jr. has the most beautiful voice. Not only that he’s very handsome and a good actor too.

I have always liked Harry Connick’s music. Mind you my taste in music is very eclectic. I can listen to Barry Manilow one moment then Metallica the next. Then I might listen to a little something from the Three Tenors and then a song from Linkin Park. I love the classics to big band and from “elevator music” to metal and just about anything in between.

When I learned that Harry had a new CD out where he did covers of popular songs from over the years I just had to hear it for myself.

In Your Songs Harry covers songs from timeless classics like “Some Enchanted Evening” to more modern tunes such as “Just the Way You Are”.

Here are the songs found on the new CD.

- All the Way

- Just the Way You Are

- Can’t Help Falling in Love with You

- And I Love Her

- (They Love to be) Close to You

- Besame Mucho (Kiss Me Much)

- The Way You Look Tonight

- First Time I Ever Saw Your Face

- Your Song

- Some Enchanted Evening

- And I Love You So

- Who Can I Turn to (When Nobody Needs Me)

- Smile

- Mona Lisa

Harry adds his own special “touch” to all of the songs. My husband says whenever he hears Harry singing he automatically thinks about our Harry Connick Jr. Christmas CD that we own. LOL!

The whole CD is easy listening. It’s great to have on when you are working around the house or on the computer, like I often do. I think it would be nice for your commute to and from work too.

My favorite songs on the CD would have to be The Way You Look Tonight. It’s so romantic! His voice is PERFECT for that song. I also love Some Enchanted Evening. Smile is a great song too. Very much a “big band” type of song. All the Way is another favorite of mine.

If you are a fan of Harry Connick Jr. or you love jazz, big band and romantic music then you are going to love the new CD Your Songs.

Your Songs by Harry Connick Jr. was released on September 22, 2009. You can purchase it wherever music is sold. You can also listen to samples of the song on the new album on Amazon by clicking on this link,
