I know what you are thinking, MORE back to school posts? LOL! I have a few more awesome back to school products to tell you about. I should be finished up with them this weekend then it’s back to my regular postings.
I MUST tell you about this great back to school product, or even for you to take your lunch to work with. It’s called a Wrap N’ Mat.
Wrap N’ Mat is offered by Greenline Paper. It is a fabric “mat” with a plastic lining which is made with low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and approved by the FDA to be used in direct contact with food. It’s also phthalate free and lead free.
Wrap N’ Mat is used in place of sandwhich bags. After you make your sandwhich you place it in the center of the Wrap N’ Mat, fold in the sides and then fold in the opposite sides. It closes with a velcro closure. When you are ready to eat your sandwhich simply unwrap and enjoy. The “wrap” also doubles as a “mat” (placemat) too!
Honestly I was pretty sceptical about the Wrap N’ Mat’s ability to keep bread fresh and not allow it to go stale. I had to test it out to be certain. I figured there was about a 5 hour time frame from the time I make lunch for my kids until they eat lunch so I took two pieces of bread and wrapped them in the Wrap N’ Mat. I checked the time and 5 hours later I opened it up to find that the bread was perfectly fine. It was not stale at all. Awesome!
I tested it out again. I made a PB&J sandwhich, wrapped it in the Wrap N’ Mat and left it alone for 5 hours. Sure enough the sandwhich was perfectly fine, just like it would be if I used a plastic bag.
PERFECT!
Instead of wasting hundreds of sandwhich bags each school year, plus destroying our environment you can purchase just one very inexpensive (only $6.50!) Wrap N’ Mat instead. Think about how much money you can save too.
Wrap N’ Mat is easily washable too. I just took a damp cloth to wash it off. I’m not sure if it can go in the washing machine. It MIGHT but I wouldn’t put it in the dryer! No way! The lining could melt. It’s better to just lay flat to dry.
The Wrap N’ Mat comes in a cute “Earth friendly” fabric. It’s gender neutral so a boy or girl could use it (or a man or women). They also offer a solid green Wrap N’ Mat too.
I am going to buy additional Wrap N’ Mats for my entire family to take our lunches in. Between the Wrap N’ Mat and reusable water bottles I feel good that I am able to make a difference and pack a much better, Earth friendly lunch for my family.
