Worlds Worst Criminal?

This is a TRUE story. This is an article from my local newspaper, the Journal News. These are actual events that took place in the next town over from where we live.

After holdup fails, Taco Bell gunman asks for a job

HAVERSTRAW – Police are searching for a man who brandished a gun at the Taco Bell on Route 9W and later asked for a job.

The man entered the fast-food restaurant just after 2 p.m. and pointed a gun at the cashier, demanded money and told the cashier to get on the floor, said Lt. John Hickey of the Haverstraw Police Department.

The man then walked into the manager’s office at the back of the restaurant.

“He requested an application for employment, and the manager said ‘No,’ ” Hickey said.

The manager, who police said didn’t know about the attempted holdup. then asked the man to leave.

The suspect left the premises in an unknown direction.

The suspect did not point a gun at the Taco Bell manager, police Lt. Peter Murphy said.

No money was taken from Taco Bell, police said.

A Taco Bell employee escaped during the holdup and called police from the nearby Wendy’s restaurant.

The suspect is believed to be Hispanic, 19 or 20 years old and between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, police said.

Officers searched the Route 9W corridor, including the woods and near the cemetery. They were assisted by the Clarkstown K-9 unit and the Rockland County helicopter.

“There have been no arrests, but the investigation is continuing,” said Murphy, declining to provide further details.

The manager of Taco Bell, whom police didn’t identify, said by phone yesterday that he didn’t want to discuss Monday’s incident. He did not give his name.

It was the second robbery reported in town during the past 10 days…

Ok, how DUMB do you have to be to hold up a fast food restaurant at gun point, then walk into the manager’s office and ask for a job? You can’t make this stuff up! LOL!

The manager was not exactly bright either. He SHOULD have given the criminal the application then take it and tell the criminal that he will look it over and call him to set up an interview. That way the manager would have had the criminals name, address, phone number and everything else to identify him.

This is a TRUE story. I thought I’d share it with my readers in case you wanted a good laugh.

The Big Apple Circus is Back!

Popcorn…peanuts…acrobats…cotton candy…animals…clowns… The circus is back in town! Or more specifically the Big Apple Circus is back and better then ever.

Who doesn’t love the circus? Young and old can always find amazing and entertaining things happening at the circus. My favorite has always been the acrobatic acts. Even as an adult I am still in awe when I see people swinging through the air like that.

“America’s Best Clown” by Time Magazine, Bello, is also back to star in the Big Apple Circus. This time he’s joined by a lot of amazing stars.

- Spain’s juggling artiste, Picaso Jr.

- Russia’s Aniskin Troupe who catapult to the top of the tent on trampoline and soar across it on trapeze.

- Equestrians Christine and Sultan get your heart pounding as they straddle galloping horses Roman style.

- A pack of whacky dogs rescued from shelters.

People naturally assume that the Big Apple Circus is JUST a NYC thing. It’s not! The Big Apple Circus does travel to other states. They currently have dates available in Washington DC and Atlanta, Georgia, as well as NYC.

Countdown to Halloween

Here’s some fun for Halloween I thought my readers might enjoy.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment is counting down the days to Halloween with special Halloween E-Cards released once a week through the month of October from the animated Halloween classic “Mad Monster Party”.

The stop-motion movie comes from the team who created the classic holiday movies “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, “Frosty the Snowman” and other beloved holiday classics. “Mad Monster Party” was also the inspiration for Tim Burton’s creepy classic “A Nightmare Before Christmas”

I am ashamed to say that I have personally never seen the movie “Mad Monster Party” but I am trying to get a copy of the DVD to check it out. My husband has never seen it either. I came out in 1967! How did we ever miss this? I guess they don’t show it on DVD like they do the other movies.

Here is the link to the current Halloween greeting card available.

I know that 123 Greetings are often the target of SPAM mail that contains viruses. This particular link is legitimate and comes directly from Lionsgate Home Entertainment and 123 Greetings.
