Food Should Taste Good. Yes, that is certainly true. You want your food to taste good. You expect your food to taste good. It shouldn’t taste fake or overly processed.
Food Should Taste Good is actually the name of a company that makes all natural, healthy snacks. For the sake of this review I’ll sometimes refer to the company as FSTG too.
Pete Lescoe, the creative mind behind FSTG, came up with the idea when he was working in the food service industry. He flt that food tastes best when it is made with quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. This simple idea inspired him to take wholesome, all natural ingredients and capture their great flavor by cooking them INSIDE a chip to create a new kind of snack.
Food Should Taste Good offers a variety of chips in different flavor combinations. Some of the flavors include:
- Sweet Potato
- Blue Corn featuring organic blue corn, quinoa, soy, flax, sunflower and sesame seeds, oat fiber and brown rice.
- Yellow Corn made with sea salt.
- Chocolate made with semi-sweet chocolate, Dutch cocoa, Vanilla and sea salt.
- Cheddar made with cheddar cheese, quinoa, soy, flax, sunflower and sesame seeds, oat fiber and brown rice.
FSTG sent my family samples of all of their chips. OH MY! You can only imagine the look on their faces when we opened up this big box filled with chips. My kids had eyes as big as flying saucers! They were in snack heaven. LOL!
Since there are so many varieties we figured we would try a different bag each day (or pretty much every day). There was more then enough in each bag for me to try a chip or two and then the rest of the family to inhale the rest (ha ha).
One thing that I quickly noticed about the chips is that they all look different. Some are round, some are half moon shaped, pizza shape and even a long oval shape.

These chips are unlike anything I have ever tried before. You can really taste all the ingredients in the chips. For example, in the cheddar chips you could taste the sunflower and sesame seeds. When you bit into the chips your mouth would get taken over by a variety of different flavors. It kind of reminds of when people do a wine tasting. They take the time to let the variety of flavors come alive inside their mouths so that they can taste all the flavors from the boldest to the most subtle. That is sort of how the FSTG chips are. Certain ingredient flavors are present at the first crunch where as others take time to make themselves known.
Some of the flavors my family could not get enough of like Sweet Potato, Multigrain, Cheddar and the Blue Corn. Other flavors they were not too keen about (Lime) and others I was rather surprised that my kids liked (Olive).
I think the thing that sticks out most in my mind about the FSTG chips are that they taste fresh. They are light and crispy. They are weighed down with oils or make your hands greasy.
I really enjoyed how well the various ingredients worked so well together. I would never think of adding sesame and sunflower seeds to a cheddar chip. They are very unique and there is nothing like it on the market.

Not only does Food Should Taste Good care about the quality of ingredients used in their chip products but they also care about our environment too. They use fuel-efficient transportation, corrugated packaging that is 100% recyclable and made from 65%+ recycled content. And best of our all their chip ingredients are non-genetically modified. They even provide their employees with plates and eating utensils at work to reduce paper and plastic waste. I wish more companies would take after their example.
Unlike other chips, FSTG chips can also be used in recipes. There is a recipe section on the FSTG web site that utilizes the various chips. Some of the recipes include…
- Strawberry Balsamic with Chocolate FSTG Chips
- Corn & Black Bean Salsa with Sweet Potato Chips
- Hazelnut Spread to be used with the Chocolate or Sweet Potato Chips
- Vidalia Onion Dip which would go great with the Blue Corn or Yellow Corn Chips
You can also sign up to get an instant $1.00 off coupon.
Food Should Taste Good chips are available online as well as places like Costco, Whole Foods, Stop & Shop, Starbucks, A&P, Target, Wegmans, Harris Teeter and many other retail locations. I found some at our local Stop & Shop. They were in the Organic food section. You might also find them in the regular chip section too.
