I ♥to sleep. I may not get much of it compliments of the insomniaI have been dealing with for WEEKS now. When I’m not suffering from insomnia I could easily sleep for a good 10-12 hours straight if left alone.
I love to crawl into my bed under snuggly covers, especially on a cool Winter night. During the summer I don’t even want to look at a blanket let alone have on on top of me at night. My husband on the other hand always sleeps with a quilt or blanket on him no matter what the temperature is.
A few weeks ago I was asked if I would like to try out a “sleep envelope” from a company called Natura. Natura’s bedding is unlike any other I have ever experienced before. Natura’s bedding is not just bedding – it’s an experience!
A sleep envelope from Natura consists of a fitted NaturaProtect Deluxe Mattress Protector and a Natura Washable Wool Comforter. Just the mere thought of a comforter in 95+ degree weather made me cringe, but I was still very intrigued by the whole idea.
The mattress cover helps to eliminate dust mites, bacteria and other nasty things you really don’t want to sleep on or with. It even offers a layer of protection against accidents and spills. The cover is made with 100% Organic Cotton. I have worn clothing made with Organic Cotton so I am familiar with how it feels but this mattress cover is unlike anything I have ever experienced before.
We put the mattress cover on my husband’s bed. Now before you assume we sleep in separate beds like they did in the 50′s, that is not the case. We only have one bedroom that our kids share. My husband and I have to sleep in the living room in a daybed/trundle set up. We both have twin size beds. During the day my bed is our “couch” and at night my husband’s bed rolls out from underneath and pops up. For the sake of this review we chose my husband’s bed since he loves to sleep all covered up in the hot summer heat.
As soon as we got the mattress cover on the bed I just had to lie on it. It looked so inviting!
I can’t explain it but this mattress cover is in a class by its self. I have never felt anything like it before. It was soft and silky smooth. It wasn’t scratchy like other covers. Lying on top of it just wanted to roll it up around me and turn myself into a human burrito (ha ha). It feels so lush and smooth, and oh-so-comfortable.
Next we put the Natura comforter on the bed. My husband THOUGHT he was going to beat me to it but he was wrong. I quickly jumped in the bed to see how it felt to be in between the mattress cover and the comforter.
HEAVEN! It was pure heaven! Even though it was hot and sticky the comforter didn’t make me feel uncomfortable. Dare I say it even made me feel a bit cooler? Despite the fact it was hot and humid I felt very comfortable under the comforter. This is an ideal all-season comforter.
After we set up the bed I was regretting my decision to let my husband be the one to try out the sleep envelope first. I can honestly say I was jealous.
My husband has been sleeping in the sleep envelope for a couple of weeks now and he does nothing but sing its praises. He’s already told me that he’s not giving it up. Ha Ha.
I asked my husband to give me a quote or even part of a review for this but his mind is focused on the new job he might have (just waiting on a salary offer).
My husband says he could sleep all day in the sleep envelope. He says the bed feels silky smooth, very soft and ultra-comfortable. He tells me that he feels as though he sleeps better. I have noticed that he doesn’t toss and turn as much as he used to. He looks all snug as a bug curled up under the comforter. He also seems to wake up less.
My husband once used referred to it as “sleeping on a cloud“. He has also told me that he looks forward to going to bed. He compares the bed to being like “comfort food”, giving him a sense of comfort, well-being and happiness.
I am SO JEALOUS!
He also tells me that he sleeps much better and feels more rested when he wakes up. He also joked with me that putting the envelope on my bed is a waste since I barely sleep these days. He’s usually fast asleep around 10 PM until 4:30 when he gets up for work. There are often times I’m not going to sleep until 4 AM. MAYBE if I had the Natura products on MY bed I would be able to fall asleep?
The material the bedding is made from “wicks” moisture away making you feel more comfortable and it helps with temperature fluctuations. This is why it’s an ideal all-season bedding.
Natura is unlike any other natural and organic bedding on the market. Best of all it’s 100% washable. We have washed both the cover and the comforter. They washed well in the machine. We choose to air dry as much as possible so we never put these in the dryer. I believe they would dry well in the dryer. For us we prefer to hang it ove the shower rod to air dry. Even after being washed both pieces continued to feel ultra soft and silky smooth.
The fitted mattress cover is better then any other mattress cover we have ever tried. It actually stays on the bed! It’s a huge pet peeve of mine when mattress covers come undone on the corners and pull up. We have not had that happen yet.
I was also sent three other products from Natura: NaturaClean Spray, NaturaProtect Odor Remover and a lovely scented ReGrooveN8 Mist.
We’ve tried the NaturaProtect on all four beds. Just a little mist goes a long way. It smells lovely too! The NaturaProtect helps to eliminate the odor caused by the bacteria. With four cats and a dog sleeping on our beds (except my husband’s) I’m sure we can use all the protection we can get.
We haven’t tried the NaturaClean spray yet. That is more for cleaning stains which thankfully we have not had on our bedding…yet!
The ReGrooveN8 smells SO GOOD! It has an aloe and green tea scent to it. It’s aromatherapy for your home to help calm and soothe you. You can use it as a room spray, body spray or air freshener. I actually spray it on my pillow at night. I find it very relaxing. Sometimes my husband is bothered by scents (like candles) but this spray has not bothered him at all.
We are head-0ver-heels in love with our Natura sleep envelope. So much so that we need to get three more sets for the rest of us in the family. Even my kids love to snuggle up in the sleep envelope whenever they have a chance.
I have thought of all the “pros” and “cons” about the products and I can honestly say there is only one “con” I can think of and that is the price. The products are a bit pricey for some people. The twin size mattress cover is about $160 and the twin size comforter is around $270. Most of our bedding comes from Walmart so I am not sure if this is a normal price for quality bedding.
Personally feel that they are worth every penny in the long run. It’s hard to put a price tag on the perfect night’s sleep, unless of course you have insomnia.
