I’m sorry if I am late posting this update today. I had a busy morning.
So far, so good. I’m doing very well on Nutrisystem. I’m down another two pounds. Actually it was 1.6 as per my scale but I am rounding to the nearest pound to make it easier on me to keep track of. All those decimals threw me off. Ha Ha.
It was an uneventful week this week. I really didn’t encounter any problems. I indulged in some ice cream last Friday at Baskin-Robbins. I didn’t go overboard. I was careful of my choices.
Its OK to veer off course every now and then. I don’t recommend you doing it often but we’re all human and we need to enjoy things from time to time. I had ice cream because we were celebrating at Baskin-Robbins. Its also not something we do all the time.
I enjoyed some of my favorite foods this week like the split pea soup. I know not many people like split pea soup, or cringe at the mere thought of it, but I love it. My great-grandfather used to make split pea with ham soup. It was one of my favorites growing up. I wish I knew how to make it on my own.
I know it doesn’t look appetizing but the Nutrisystem Split Pea soup is very good.
Also this week I tried the Southwest wrap which is new on the menu. I noticed that it had olives in it. I’m not a fan of olives. Thankfully you really couldn’t taste them. They blended into the other flavors.
My family was so grossed out at the sight of the Southwest wrap (the inside portion of the meal). They all said it resembled vomit. Of course that was NOT what I wanted to hear when I was about to take a bite out of it. I admit that it didn’t look too appealing but I don’t use that as the only basis as to whether or not I am going to eat something.
The Southwest wrap tasted fine. In this case “don’t judge a book by its cover”. Just because it looks a bit gross doesn’t mean that it is.
I like that Nutrisystem offers foods similar to what I make for my family. That way I can eat the same thing they are eating and not feel like I’m missing out on anything.
This past week I made my family spaghetti with meatballs. That night for dinner I had the same thing (spaghetti with meat sauce). I love spaghetti. The Nutrisystem version is OK. Its not one of my favorites but its edible. The only difference from what I ate and what my family ate is that they also had some garlic bread. I skipped that part of the meal. We also all had salad (mine without dressing of course).
I am actually very pleased that this week I didn’t have any cravings for the “bad stuff”. I think because I have been so incredibly busy that I haven’t really had a chance to focus on things like that. If you keep yourself busy you don’t really have time to obsessed about eating and food. I think that is a great tip to loosing weight and keeping weight off.
I’m an emotional eater. I eat when I’m sad, mad, happy, scared, bored…you name it. The trick is to find other things to do with your mind (and body) then eat. Keeping busy helps a lot.
I have been really bad with exercising this week. I have been so busy that I barely had a chance to breath, let alone anything else.
I’m pleased with how the week went. On to the next one!

Split Pea Soup is so easy to make. I can walk you through it if you want to know how. (Just e-mail me) It is inexpensive, healthy, and filling to make it from scratch!
