In this day and age its all about the technology. Most people own several “hi-tech” gadgets that are essential to their busy lives. For example, I think my husband would be lost without his Blackberry. My kids would go bonkers if they couldn’t text, listen to their iPods or play with their Nintendos.
I’m all for technology. I think its great. It helps us to stay on top of things, lets us keep in touch with family and friends and keeps us entertained. The only downside are all the batteries and chargers needed to these products going.
We live in a small condo. We have very few outlets and its hard to find any available places to plug things in. On any given day I’ll have a cell phone plugged into the outlet in the dining room, a Nintendo resting on top of my coffee maker and even a camera charging in the bathroom.
Plugs are even a problem for us too. Plugs get misplaced or worst yet, eaten by our cats (two of them love to chew on cords).
Wouldn’t it be ideal if you had one localized area of your home where you could quickly and easily recharge all your beloved products and at the same time? You can with PowerMat.
PowerMat is special “power station” that allows you to charge up to four devices at the same time without having to hunt down all those different power cords or search for a free outlet. That means I can charge our iPad, an iPod, my husband’s Blackberry and a Nintendo DS all at the SAME TIME with just ONE plug (the PowerMat plug). I cannot even begin to tell you how convenient this has been.
If I have the PowerMat set out to charge my phone and the iPad (for example) and my husband comes home and realizes that his Blackberry needs some extra “juice” (power) all he needs to do is place it on the PowerMat until its fully charged. His Blackberry has a special PowerMat receiver on the back of his Blackberry. He no longer needs to worry about the plug. Talk about convenient!
Here is our power mat with the iPad and an iPod charging. My husband could easily place is Blackberry in that middle section, or my son could add his Nintendo, and all the products will charge at the same time. There is even a USB port in the back of the PowerMat where you could plug in a 4th item if you like.
I LOVE the PowerCube that comes with 8 different “tips” that fit into most electronic products. The PowerCube rests on the PowerMat and you can add the “tip” that fits your product to the end of the cord. In the photo my iPad is charging using the PowerCube. When its done charging and I feel like I need to charge my LG Rumor phone I just have to swap out the tip for the tip that fits into my phone and charge my phone without having to search high and low for the plug.
The PowerCube is self contained and closes up for easy storage. It also has a magnet so that the plug and the case “stick” together. The tips make it compatible with literally hundreds of devices. Each one is also labeled so you can easily find the proper tip for your device.
We have the portable PowerMat and folds up neatly inside its own carrying case. Even the plug folds up and fits in the case. The case has a strong magnetic closure too.
The portable PowerMat is great for families on the go. You can take it with you when you travel that way you can enjoy all your favorite “gadgets” and not have to worry about the power cords. When its folded up in it’s case it takes up no more room then a typical cosmetic case or small purse.
Also available is an office version of the PowerMat. It doesn’t fold up so its not handy for those who travel a lot. However you could keep it on your desk or counter top and have it available all the time for your entire family to keep their favorite products fully charged.
I prefer the portable PowerMat because our counter space is limited. I’ll let my family know I’m taking it out and if they need anything charged they need to bring it to me. Then when everyone is done charging their “must have” gadgets I fold it up and put it away until the next time its needed.
The PowerMatis one of those “Why didn’t anyone think of this sooner?” kind of products. The initial cost might be a bit pricey for some people but the long term investment is so worthwhile especially considering the convenience. I think it would also make a great gift, especially for the person in your life who seems to have everything or who is hard to buy for. Everyone could benefit from a PowerMat.

I keep a packing list in a Word file on my computer, with headings for each family member. Each time we take a trip, I save a copy of the packing list with the name and date of the trip, and customize the basic list with our needs for that trip. I rarely forget anything!

I turn into a compplete control freak before its time to go backto school. I scour far and wide to buy everysing textbook I need for the absolute cheapest price on the net, then I color code each notebook to correspond with each class. If i didn’t do this I would go crazy, being a grad student and the mother of twins can drive you nuts!!!
My best tip for back to school is to stock up on school supplies while they are on sale and then you do not have to fight the crowds when school starts.

I bought a roll of neon orange duct tape and put it on all our luggage. It makes it very easy to pick out at the airport baggage claim. (Unless someone else has had the same idea!)

Start getting the kids back to school bedtimes about 2 weeks prior to the first day of school for a smooth transition.

I always make sure I pack a change of clothes in my carryon, along with travel size package of diaper/personal wipes and a trash bag or Ziploc Big Bag. If you get stuck @ an airport (or an accident happens – dick child, spilled drink, whatever) at least you can change into fresh clothing, and you can store your old clothing safely until you can launder it.

I think my best back-to-school tip is this: Don’t wait until the last minute to do stuff. Use the summer wisely by starting to stock up on supplies like notebooks and pens/pencils and binders that you know you’re going to need at the start of the school year. That way, you can mark them off the list(s) they hand out at the beginning of the year and it doesn’t seem like such a huge task – or expense – any more.

my best tip for getting ready for back-to-school is to take each of my daughters shopping by themselves… it might mean a few more trips for me – but the 1:1 on time is priceless and I can focus on just one child and what they need/want and what stores they want to go to. I am not as frazzled and the trip is much more enjoyable.

We carry on bags to avoid the fees. Fold clothes in plastic bags – dry cleaning bags are good – and they don’t get as wrinkled. Also, especially with older kids, bring snacks like crackers, fruit, etc.

Even small kids can help out with some lunch prep for school lunches, help pick out and SET out their clothes, andd keep themselves organized somewhat so YOU dont have to do it all. a chart in their room AND in a family traffic area will help as a reminder!

My best travel tip is to leave the kids at home… or wait, maybe that’s my best tip in getting ready for Back-to-School!

we map out resturaunts, gas stations, etc on the route before leaving and back extra drinks and snacks. Very handy when traveling with a diabetic.

My best travel tip – Make sure the kid’s Nintendo DS’s are charged!! They are lifesavers on long trips when you just need them to settle down and be quiet.

Always carry your travel documents with you. Do not leave them with your wife while you go get the rental car. It can cause a long delay.

Wait a week until after school has started and then all the school supplies go on clearance. Buy as much as you can.

both my husband and i are very far from fmaily so for vacation rather then theme parks etc we go visit family – whom we love of course but at my moms its all about making sure everything little thing we feed our little one is healthy and his mom is the opposite – thinks they should be sumo wrestlers as baby toddlers – or they are unhealthy so all the fat and sugar you can pile on – and the lectures take up a lot of time. lol
anyway – means a big plane ride so we like to buy little toys he’s never seen before. This keeps him pretty satisfied and happy – and let him have the window seat!
My best back-to-school tip is to prepare the kids for the big day weeks beforehand – we visit the school grounds and classroom, sometimes meet the teacher, get ourselves back on a normal sleeping and eating schedule, and start reading and writing a few weeks before the school year begins to prepare everyone’s minds and bodies for a successful year!

Best travel tip: I ROLL my clothes, rather than fold, and it helps keep the wrinkles out and I’m able to stuff more into my suitcase!
Thanks for the chance!

My best travel tip is if you are traveling by plane with a child young enough to be in the car seat, take the car seat! It gives the child an extra measure of safety, and a familiarity that usually leads to him or her just falling asleep on the plane (as if they were in a car). It’s priceless!

One travel tip is to make a list of what to pack and you can use it to not forget anything. Thanks for this giveaway! I hope I win.
Since I have 4 kids, the tip that has worked SO well for us is that each I pack each child their own snack bag and make them each their own folder of activities. It really makes the travelling smoother!

My travel tip is don’t procrastinate when packing and preparing the house. There is nothing more stressful than waiting till the last minute and that is when we usually forget stuff.

Take time to go through old clothes and papers and get rid of what you can’t currently use. If there are papers your child simply won’t throw away get a file folder and have them choose the most important ones and store them away.
My best travel tip is to not overpack.

Start packing days in advance so you have time to think about things you’ve forgotten.

Thanks for the giveaway…our perennial back to school tip is to provide ourchildren with a well lighted location for them to study at home that is free from distractions i.e. tv, radio, internet, etc.

My best travel tip is to pack a smaller bag within your luggage in case you buy more than you can pack that way you have an additional bag already instead of hunting one down while travelling.
When traveling with kids, make sure to have stops for them and snacks and some sort of entertainment.

My best travel tip s to pack an extra bag with some essentials in case you lose your luggage.
my travel tip is make sure all your electronics are fully charged b4 you leave the house!
Pack only what you need, not what you think you’ll want. I’ve been trying to learn how to pack conservatively for years, but it’s usually a matter of taking unnecessary things with me
