Halloween will be here before you know it. We started to see Halloween candy at the grocery store in the beginning of August. Our daughter has had her Halloween costume picked out since pretty much last Halloween (LOL). I can’t wait for the weekend so we can put our decorations up. I LOVE to decorate for the holidays!
When we take the kids out Trick-or-Treating we always bring along our dog Espn (pronounced Es-Pin). He loves being outside with all the other kids plus if we leave him home he’ll bark and freak out every time someone knocks or rings on the door bell.
When Espn was a puppy we dressed him up as a Football player for Halloween. We used our son’s Build-a-Bear clothes and they fit just perfectly. Another year we tried putting a cape and devil ears on him (to make him a “Devil Dog”) but the head piece bugged him and we had to take it off.
We have a neighbor name Penny who is a Dachshund. Every year her own dresses her up in a Hot Dog costume. Its too cute!
Do you like to dress your pup up for Halloween? If you do then you might want to consider entering in PetSmart’s Halloween contest where you can enter to win a lot of CASH prizes and more! The grand prize winner will have their pet appear in a PetSmart commercial. In addition NINE runners up will win prizes like a $250 PetSmart gift card up to $1,000 in cash! There is also a WEEKLY giveaway of $500 depending on which photo gets the most votes and a $50 random giveaway each week too.
Entering is very easy. All you need to do is “like” PetSmart on Facebook and upload your pets picture dressed up in their best Halloween costume. Then ask your friends, family and co-workers to vote for your photo. Its that easy!
I “like” PetSmart on Facebook and I have seen A LOT of $50 winners. That $50 can buy a lot of pet food or supplies. Of course we’d probably spend it all on toys for Epsn. Espn LOVES toys! We especially love their seasonal toys. They have so many cute toys geared towards the holidays. We also can’t forget the Loofah dog. Espn LOVES the Loofah dogs!
Did you know that PetSmart carries dog costumes that range in price from $4.99 up to $14.99. Many of their costumes are in the $4.99 – $6.99 price range. Martha Stewart has a few for $17.99. They have some super adorable costumes too! I love the football costume, which would be great for a dog who is not keen on the idea of wearing a costume. The Pumpkin and Dinosaur costumes are super cute too!
Don’t forget to pick up some Halloween toys for your pet! I get such a kick out of these toys. I love that PetSmart offers holiday toys.
This year Espn will be sporting a glow-in-the dark Halloween t-shirt (also available from PetSmart in a 2-pack). We have an orange one and a white ghost one. Since Espn is mostly white I think we’ll have him wear the orange one so it stands out better.
Both Halloween t-shirts are made very well. They are not flimsy at all. They feel like a regular t-shirt you would buy for a “human”. Espn is a crazy dog and even running around and rolling all over in them they held up perfectly fine.
Here is Espn showing off his Halloween outfits. I’m sorry if none of them are good shots. Espn is a very wiggly and bouncy dog and he wouldn’t sit still for me.
