Entenmann’s Pancake Pockets & Spa Finder Gift Certificate Giveaway

Some of my readers in the NY Metro area might have come across the new Entenmann’s Pancake Pockets on the store shelves at your local grocery store. Have you tried them yet? If so, what did you think of them?

For those of you outside of the NY Metro area I want to give you a “heads up” about a new Entenmann’s product that will hopefully be coming to a store near your. They are called Pancake Pockets. Don’t let the name fool you, these are not breakfast foods. They are more like scrumdelicious treats and desserts.

Pancake Pockets are individually wrapped pancake “sandwiches” with fillings like Strawberry, Maple Syrup and Chocolate.

Pancake Pockets can be enjoyed right out of the box and they don’t have to be kept refrigerated. Please check the expiration dates since these expire quickly. They are not like other products that can sit on shelves for months at a time.

The best way to enjoy the Pancake Pockets is to microwave them for a few seconds. The directions say 10 seconds. I have found doing 5 seconds on one side then turning them over and doing 5 seconds on the other side works best. Don’t over do it or the filling inside will be very hot and you can burn your mouth.

There are six Pancake Pockets in each both. One serving (one Pocket) has 5 grams of Whole Grains which is certainly a great thing since its very important that we get ample amounts of Whole Grains in our daily diets.

My family has only tried the Chocolate Pancake Pockets so far. They were gone in two days! LOL! Needless to say my family enjoyed them. What is not to love about them? Pancakes and Chocolate – YUM!

The Chocolate flavored Pancake Pockets have 170 calories each and 3.5 grams of fat (one of which is saturated). They also have 3 grams of protein, 4% of your daily required Calcium and 4% of your required Iron.

I was a bit “iffy’ about the idea of a pancake that didn’t have to be kept refrigerated. When they are warmed up they actually taste pretty good. The warm up nicely in the microwave too. They are not hard or rubbery like other bread-like products can be.

The filling is delish! It reminded me more of chocolate frosting. I thought it would be a pudding like consistancy but its a bit thicker then that. I was pleasantly surprised.

I suppose that these could be used as a “grab and go” breakfast option for busy Moms. If that was the case I would opt for the Maple Syrup or Strawberry filled Pancake Pockets. The Chocolate filled ones are too much like dessert then a breakfast. With 5 grams of Whole Grains this would be a much better option then just grabbing a cup of coffee and nothing to eat or downing a bowl of sugar coated kids cereal.

Pancake Pockets are super quick to heat up (10 seconds!) and you can carry them with you as you rush out the door.

As a busy Mom myself I’m always looking for products that can make things a bit easier for me, especially when time is so limited sometimes having to rush around all over the place.

Pancake Pockets would be great to keep in your desk drawer at work too. It would be better then noshing on chips from the vending machine at 9 AM.

If you are looking for something quick to grab on the go during your super busy mornings you might want to consider the new Entenmann’s Pancake Pockets. Remember, they also make tasty snack too.

Currently they are only available in the NY Metro area but hopefully soon they will be available across the country.
