I love holiday music! I cannot get enough of it. During the holidays when I’m at home I like to listen to holiday music on Pandora or listen to our plethora of holiday music CDs. When I’m driving in my car I have my radio set to 106.7 which is a local radio station that plays 24/7 holiday music from Thanksgiving until New Years day.
Kristen Chenoweth is a singer and actress. She is best known for her parts in movies like “Four Christmases“, “Deck the Halls” and on shows like Glee. She is also the voice of one of Disney’s fairies (Rosetta) in all of the newer Tinker Bell movies. She is also a fixture on Broadway appearing in many plays including Wicked and Promises, Promises.
This accomplished actress also have a beautiful singing voice. She has a couple of albums including a holiday album called A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas.
Kristen has an amazing voice and does a fantastic job on many of the holiday classics like “I’ll be home for Christmas”, “Do you hear what I hear?” and “What child is this?”
Kristen was clearly cut out for country type music. She grew up in Oklahoma and has a very country sounding drawl to her voice. That country twang carries over to her music. I’m not a fan of country and some of her songs on the album come across that way due to her drawl, but I was still OK with it.
Some songs on the album I have never heard of before. The song ”Christmas Island” sound like it was something she sang on Broadway. Its not very “Christmassy”. Another song called “Sleigh Ride/Marshmallow World” was a bit Broadway-like too. Its based on a classic holiday song but the way it comes across is a bit theatrical.
Overall I think this is a wonderful album that is included in our holiday play list and would make a great addition to any holiday album collection.
Kristen Chenoweth: A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas is sold where ever most albums are sold including Amazon and Walmart.
