I love sweets! Not so much candy but more so cookies, cakes and pastries. Of course things like this contributed to me being overweight because I’m not good with portion sizes. Its hard to stop at just ONE cookie when the cookie you are eating is incredibly delicious.
I was asked if I wanted to try out some treats from Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop. Ha! I’m not insane. Of course I wanted to try out some of her sweet treats. I checked out the website and couldn’t help but drool!
Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop is named after Sally Saltzbart Minier. Sally learned how to bake from her mother and grandmother. Her grandma Gracie was well known for her specialties like NY Cheesecake, Spritz Butter cookies and Blackberry Buckle.
Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop sent me three mouth watering treats; Big Apple Crackle, Russian Tea Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies.
♥ ♥ ♥ I LOVE THE BIG APPLE CRACKLE ♥ ♥ ♥!!! Oh my goodness! I am ADDICTED to this stuff! Thankfully I only received a small box or I could have easily gobbled up a big box.
Big Apple Crackle is made with bittersweet chocolate, buttery caramel and toasted almonds on top of a Matzoh cracker. If you are unfamiliar with Matzoh crackers they look like giant saltines and are a popular treat in Jewish homes. My family loves to spread peanut butter on Matzoh crackers. After tasting the Big Apple Crackle I’m hooked on chocolate covered Matzohs.
The Matzoh cracker tastes a lot like an unsalted saltine cracker. When you combine that crunch with the chocolate and toasted almonds you have the most amazing combination of tastes. The Big Apple Crackle is TOO GOOD to describe in mere words. You truly have to taste it to appreciate it. Trust me – it is A-W-E-S-O-M-E!
Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop also sent me a few samples of their wonderful Chocolate Chip Cookies. These cookies are similar to the ones I remember my great-grandmother making. They are even topped with a sprinkling of large sugar crystals.
Each bite size cookie is stuffed with bit chunks of chocolate chips. Sweet Sally certainly doesn’t skimp on the chips. You couldn’t ask for more chips in these classic treats. They are oh-so-good too! They taste fresh and you can tell these are handmade and not store bought.
Lastly I received three puffs of sugar covered cookies known as Russian Tea Cakes. These cookies are common around the holidays but in Russia and the United States. I would consider these more of a pastry then a cookie.
Russian Tea Cakes are made from ground nuts, water and flour. They are also covered in powdered sugar. They crumble easily. My kids and my husband didn’t care too much for these but I certainly enjoyed them. They do go great with a hot cup of tea.
Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop offers a variety of special treats for the holidays and all year round.
Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop offers special gift packages that you can send to loved ones across the miles. I would be proud to send family members a package of treats from Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop.
You can even “WOW” your holiday guests by serving some of these mouth water treats for dessert. The hard part would be not to gobble them all up before your get together. Ha Ha.
Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop ships across the United States and offers treats in every price range.

Mutual of Omaha – the insurance company sponsored the show and if you remember for a few episodes it was hosted by Lorne Green. It was really the first nature show, everything else came after it.
