Do you know someone who is totally ga-ga over Harry Potter? If so I have the PERFECT gift idea for them. Its a Harry Potter pop-up book. But this is no ordinary pop-up book. This book goes “above and beyond” and offers readers more then just images that jump from its pages.
This very special and unique pop-up book features exquisite original artwork from Andrew Williamson. He was the concept artist for all eight Harry Potter movies. Wow! Its hard to believe that there will be eight movies once they have all been released. This artwork found in the pages of this book are very elaborate and its clear to see that a tremendous amount of effort was put into each page to provide great detail, right down to the peaks and valleys in the lake below Hogwarts (or is it a river?).
I can exress enough just how detailed, and large, the pop-ups are. What impressed me the most was how well everything lies flat when you turn the page. There are so many things popping up on each page that it amazes me how well they integrate with one another so that all the demension lie perfectly flat. These are large pop-ups too!
Each page features a special location from the various Harry Potter stories. Some of the pop-up pages include Hogwarts (which is HUGE!), Magical Creatures, Triwizard Tournament Diagon Alley. There are even mini pop-ups, flaps you can turn and open and other interactive features on each page. You’ll find things like Hagrid’s hut, Hedwig the owl in her cage, the shops on Diagon Alley, Fluffy, Harry, Ron and so much more!
Throughout the book you’ll find fascinating facts about the Harry Potter movies. The book goes into great details about some of the behind-the-scenes stories. I learned things that I have never heard of before about the series. This book would be great for those who enjoy Harry Potter trivia too.
I bet JK Rowlings loves this book too. It gives readers a fun, 3-D view inside the wizardly world of Harry Potter.
I’m giving this astonishing book two thumbs up. Not only does it go into great detail about the making of the Harry Potter movies but the artwork and incredible details on each pop-up page is unlike anything I have ever seen on a pop-up book before.
