Normally I don’t mind the Winter. Snow is pretty to look at and its fun to play in. I’m just not a bit fan of shoveling the snow, and I certainly do not like driving in it. If I see so much as a snowflake I panic if I have to drive. Many years ago my car spun out of control during a snow storm and I ended up doing a 180 down a hill. From that point on I’ve been skiddish about driving in the snow. I can’t even drive in our condo complex parking lot without breaking into a sweat. Our complex is built on a hill so everything is on a slope. I’m always afraid my car will start sliding and I won’t be able to stop it.
Another reason why I Winter is not always my favorite season is the damage it does to my skin. During the Summer I worry about getting sunburned. During the Winter I have to deal with excessively dry skin.
I’m not really sure why skin gets to dry in the Winter. I guess it has to do with the humidity and the heat in the home. I also think that when you are driving and the heat from the car hits your hands on the steering wheel that it might have an effect on your skin too. All I do know for certain is that in the Winter my skin is at it’s absolute worst, most especially my hands.
This time of year I have lotion readily available to me every where I go. You can find lotion in my coat pocket, purse, glove compartment in my car, on my desk, in the bathroom and in the kitchen. I’m constantly applying lotion to my hands and I made sure to put lotion on after I shower.
One lotion that I use frequently is Curel. I like that Curel absorbs quickly into my skin. I really hate it when I put on lotion and I have to wait for it to absorb. I’m always on the go-go-go. I can’t just stop and wait for my hands to dry.
Another reason why I like Curel is because it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. I’m on my computer a lot during the day and it’s bothersome to me when my hands feel greasy. It feels like it gets all over my keyboard and mouse too.
I also suffer from Eczema. Thankfully it’s been really good so far this Winter. I haven’t had a break out. My face, hands and scalp are usually the first body parts to break out with Eczema. Then is usually moves on to my arms, chest and back.
Did you know that 15 million adults and children suffer from Eczema?
Not only can Eczema be painful it’s also very itchy and uncomfortable. Trust me, I know from experience. Its no fun!
Curel has a product called Curél Itch Defense Skin Balancing Moisture Lotion which is ideal for dry, itchy skin. Use of the product can instantly relieve the dryness and itching associated with Eczema while stopping the cycle of itchy dryness.
The special formula in the Curel Itch Defense Skin Balancing Moisture Lotion helps to re-balance four essential components of healthy skin;
- Moisture Levels- Humectants and Emollients boost moisturization and leave skin feeling protected.
- Natural Ceramides Levels – Ceramides restore skin’s barrier function and regulate skin’s ability to hold moisture.
- Accelerated Cellular Turnover- minimizes dry, flaky skin and smoothes the skin’s surface, balancing the dry skin cycle.
- Balanced pH Levels – return skin to a healthy equilibrium.
My son suffers from Eczema too from time to time, especially on his arms and torso. As a Mom I want to make sure that my children use products that are safe for them and I try to avoid unnecessary medications at all costs. When my Eczema gets really bad I have to use a steroid cream. So far I have been able to prevent my son from needing to use the same type of cream. That last thing I want is for one of my children to have to use something with steroids in it.
Curel Itch Defense Skin Balancing Moisture Lotion is also affordable. You can find a 13 ounce pump bottle for around $4.00 – $5.00. My whole family uses the lotion and a 13 ounce bottle lasts us a long time. Curel products are also found at most retail locations such as drug stores, grocery stores, Walmart, Walgreens and many other retail locations.
