Gnomeo and Juliet will finally be released in theaters on February 11, 2011 (this Friday!). In honor of the movie’s release I thought I would share some fun gnome related crafts and activities to get everyone excited about the movie’s release.
Gnomeo and Juliet is a story about two feuding gnome families – the reds and the blues. I think it would be adorable to make up these Kiss gnomes in red and blue hats.
If you plan on eating these cute little guys you might want to consider frosting instead of glue since frosting is edible.
This cute craft is found on the Family Fun website. Here is the direct link, http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/gnome-sweet-gnome-valentine-668237/.
I stumbled upon this website that offers THE CUTEST craft ideas! I love this site.
They offer several gnome crafts including a mobile, paper doll and gnome bowling.
Here is the link. Be sure to check this one out. http://myfantastictoys.blogspot.com/2009/08/five-fun-freebies-from-fantastic-toys.html
This next craft is for a Christmas ornament but I think it could be fun to make right now. Make sure to make one in red and one in blue so you can act out scenes from Gnomeo and Juliet. LOL!

Would you like to learn how to draw a gnome? If so you can get step-by-step instructions here on this site, http://www.Dragoart.com/tuts/1221/2/1/easy-step-by-step-drawing-instructions-for-how-to-draw-a-gnome.htm.
These costume ideas might be a bit ambitious for most people but I thought they were just too cute not to share with my readers. If Gnomeo and Juliet is a huge hit, which I suspect it will be, I’m sure there will be some kids who would like to be a gnome for Halloween this year.
Here are the directions for both costumes.
Lastly I have a couple of activities based upon Gnomeo and Juliet, a coloring page and a maze. For the life of me I cannot get them to upload to my site. They are PDF files. If you would like me to send them to you please e-mail me directly at SheScribes “at” Optonline “dot” net. Please put Gnomeo and Juliet in the subject line just in case your e-mail ends up in my SPAM folder. Please make sure you can open .PDF files. If not you can download a free Adobe reader at http://get.adobe.com/reader/.
If you know of any other gnome craft or activity please e-mail me and let me know. I would love to share it with my readers.
