The Easter Bunny is coming in about four weeks. You know what that means – CANDY! Lots and lots of ooey, gooey, sweet and chewy candy.
Our grocery store down the street has had Easter candies and products on the store shelves for over a month now. In fact the Easter things are on clearance! That is how quickly they want to move the summer products in.
I try to avoid the Easter candy aisles. I know if I lay my eyes on the candy displays I’m not going to be able to walk away without my arms filled with bags of yummy goodness. Most especially jelly beans (especially the black ones), chocolate marshmallow eggs, Cadbury Cream Eggs or anything chocolate.
Did you know that Hershey’s has been manufacturing and selling Cadbury products since 1988? I always assumed that Cadbury products were made in the UK and sold over here in the US. I learned about Hershy being involved with Cadbury a few years ago.
Have you ever had a Cadbury Cream Egg before? Oh my! It’s like a sugar overload – but well worth it. I used to eat Cadbury Cream Eggs like crazy. That might explain why I am overweight now (ha ha). Your first bite gives you a mouthful of delicious milk chocolate. Your first bite also reveals the ooey gooey sugary sweet center. Mmm… I’m drooling just thinking about it. It’s a chocolate egg “shell” with a creamy sugar “yolk”. Oh if only all breakfasts could star that way.
A few years ago I made myself a promise not to eat the Cadbury Cream Eggs because I was trying to watch my diet. That was easier said then done. I caved about a week or so ago and had one. I haven’t had one in years. Oh!!! It tasted SO GOOD! I missed them!
Hershey’s also has available for Easter Reece’s Pieces Eggs. It’s the same sweet goodness of a Reece’s Pieces (chocolate covered peanut butter in a hard shell), except much larger in size and shaped like eggs. They are colored in soft pastels too. These colorful little egg-shaped pieces of chocolate and peanut butter heaven are hard to resist. They are like potato chips – its impossible to eat just one, unless you mean just one BAG, then I can do that. Ha Ha.
If you are having family and friends over for Easter dinner or an egg hunt in your yard you might want to put out a bowl or two of the Reece’s Pieces Eggs. Not only will your guests have something tasty to nosh on, you’ll also have a colorful decoration too.
Another fabulous addition to any Easter basket is Hershey’s massive Milk Chocolate Egg with a Chocolate Cream Center. Think of it as the Cabury Cream Egg’s larger cousin. It’s HUGE and equally as delicious.
I found it easier to chill the egg then cut it up into pieces so the whole family could share it. It’s too much for one person to eat in one sitting. I found it to be more enjoyable in smaller, bite size pieces.
If you are love chocolate you will want to try the Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Egg with a Chocolate Cream Center. It’s a chocolate lover’s dream!
Hershey’s has other yummy favorites also available for Easter including Hershey’s Kisses in pastel foils, Cadbury Mini Eggs, Whoppers Mini Robin Eggs, Hershey’s Miniatures in colorful pastel foils and more.
Hershey has also partnered Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment to celebrate Easter and the theatrical release of Hop with Easter treats inspired by characters from the live action/CG-animated comedy arriving in theaters April 1, 2011.
