Margarita Madness at Chilis (Gift Card Giveaway)

We’ve had a lot to celebrate this weekend. Thursday was my birthday, Saturday was our daughter’s birthday and both of our children got decent progress reports from school.

We let our daughter pick out where she wanted to go for dinner. She chose Chili’s because she loves their tostado chips and salsa (so do I!). My husband and I LOVE their house salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

I’m not much of a drinker. When I do drink I tend to go for wine or beer. I rarely indulge in mixed drinks. Chili’s is having a Margarita Madness promotion at their restaurants and I found it hard not to resist enjoying a Margarita with dinner.

me narrowing it down to which Margarita to get. They have MANY different Margaritas to choose from. The choices include the World’s Freshest Margarita, Skinny Patron Margarita (low calorie), Patron Pomegranate Margarita (I was tempted to get this one), Presidente Margarita, Tropical Sunrise Margarita and Blue Pacific Margarita, to name a few. I finally settled on the El Nino Margarita that is made with Herradura Reposado Tequila (100% Blue Agave), GranGala, Patrón Citrónge orange liqueur and fresh orange juice. I asked our server to have them “lighten it up” a bit so that it has less alcohol in it.

All I can say is MMMmmm…!!!

Our sever had the Margarita ready for me at the same time he served the rest of my family soda. The glass is HUGE too! I don’t know if you can tell from the photos but its a rather large Margarita.

Mine was a big “lighter” on the alcohol then the regular El Nino Margarita, but it still had a bit of a “kick” to it. The combination or orange liquer and orange juice was perfect. It was sweet but not overly sweet.

I love how the orange color of the drink and the blue colored glass worked well together too.
