I’m going to Hollywood!

I am SO EXCITED! I couldn’t wait to share the great news. I’m going to Hollywood! If you follow my blog you know that I had THE MOST AMAZING TIME when I was out in Hollywood in January for the Gnomeo & Juliet press junket, red carpet premiere and after party. I will NEVER, EVER forget any of it. How can I forget getting a hug and a kiss on the cheek from Sir Elton John, attending an actual red carpet after party, taking a private tour of Walt Disney Studios and watching a scene from The Muppet movie being filmed AND getting to meet Kermit and Miss Piggy!

I’ll be leaving on Saturday, September 24, 2011 and I’ll be returning home in the evening of Monday, September 26, 2011. It’s a very short trip but it’s going to be jam packed with amazing experiences that I can’t wait to share with my readers.

On Saturday we’ll be seeing a special screening of the up coming movie release, Real Steel. Real Steel stars super hottie Hugh Jackman. I am SO EXCITED to have the opportunity to meet him and ask him some questions at the Real Steel press junket.

If you are unfamiliar with the film here is a brief synopsis.

A action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Another super exciting thing that we’ll get to do while out in Hollywood is interview Jason Segel, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, stars of the upcoming Muppet Movie. Not only will we have the opportunity to interview them but we’ll also get a tour of Jim Henson Studios. I am super excited about that! I cannot wait to see what special surprises are awaiting us at Jim Henson Studios. I have always adored The Muppets. I’m looking forward to possibly meeting some of my favorites.

The new Muppet Movie stars Jason Segel, the adorable Amy Adams and of course the Muppets. You’ll also be introduced to a new Muppet character name Walter. I had a chance to meet Walter back in January. He’s a cute little fellow. I know you are going to fall in love with him when the movie comes to a theater near you on November 23, 2011.

Here is a brief description of The Muppet movie.

 

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, “The Muppets” hits the big screen Nov. 23, 2011. 

I have been anxiously waiting for this movie since January! I can’t believe it will be released in just a few short months (FINALLY!). Did you know it’s been 11 long years since the last Muppet movie was released? That is too long! We need more Muppet movies. I hope this is the start of a series of new Muppet movies for a new generation to enjoy.

Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) Season 13 – Thoughts?

Yesterday ABC announced the Dancing with the Stars, season 13, celebrity line up. In case you missed the announcement here is this season’s celebrities.

- LGBT activist Chaz Bono

- Actor David Arquette

- TV host Ricki Lake

- MTV reality star Kristin Cavallari

- Keeping Up With the Kardashians‘s Rob Kardashian

- Queer Eye for the Straight Guy star Carson Kressley

- LA Lakers guard Ron Artest

- George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis

- Singer/actress Chynna Philips

- HLN host Nancy Grace

- Soap actor JR Martinez

- Soccer star Hope Solo

To be honest with you some of the celebrities don’t really interest me like Hope Solo, Chynna Philips, Ron Artest, Elisabetta Canalis and Kristin Cavallari. No offense to them. I just don’t know much about them, except Chynna Philips sang with the group Wilson Philips and Elisabetta Canalis dated George Clooney.

 Nancy Grace just seems like a really odd choice. I never saw that one coming.

The remaining celebrities should be interesting. David Arquette is always such a goofball. I wonder if he’ll be silly or if he’ll be really serious when it comes to the competition.

I like Carson Kressley. He’s funny. I’m just wondering if he’s going to wear any elaborate and over the top costumes.

I’m curious to see if Rob Kardashian can dance. Kim couldn’t really dance that well. I wonder if it’s a Kardashian thing?

It will be interesting to see Ricki Lake again. I have to admit when I was younger I used to watch her talk show until it started to be more like a cross between Jerry Springer and Maury. Then I lost interest.

I think the two most interesting and controversial contests are  going to be Chaz Bono and JR Martinez. Chaz Bono as you might already know used to be a woman. He’s now a man and he will be dancing with a female partner. I know that some people are very much against things like that (men turning into women, women turning into men). I don’t know if people are going to tune in out of curiosity or people are NOT going to tune in because they are against things like that. I guess we’ll see.

If you are not familiar with  JR Martinez. He is a soap star and former US solider who was disfigured when over 40% of his body was burned in an accident (his Humvee hit a landmine and he was trapped in the vehicle as it was engulfed in flames). He is also a motivational speaker.

I am very humbled by what happened to JR. No one should have to suffer through something like that. I think it’s fabulous that he didn’t let the disfigurement the accident caused define his life. He turned it into a positive thing and now he highly sought-after motivational speaker.

I wonder if JR will get a “sympathy vote” because people feel sorry for him. Honestly, I read up on JR and he does not need sympathy. This young man is making a name for himself and going around teaching people resilience and optimism.

This is certainly going to be a very interesting season.
