Autumn is my favorite season. I love the cool, crisp air and how trees are filled with a beautiful array of colors. I also love that the fall is the start of the holiday season. Other reasons why I love Autumn is the harvest of fruits and vegetables that are bountiful this time of year. I love carving pumpkins and going apple picking with my family. In fact we plan on going apple picking within the next couple of weeks. We’d go this coming weekend but I won’t be here. We’ll most likely go the following weekend.
Apple picking is a lot of fun. It’s always a challenge to find the “perfect” apple. One year I found a HUGE apple. I was reluctant to even eat it.
We always tend to get too many apples when we go apple picking too. Last year I think we picked about $40 worth of apples. Seriously! Who needs THAT many apples? LOL! We just had so much fun that we didn’t think about the consequences at the time (the cost per pound).
This time of year I love warm apple pie (fresh from the oven!), apple cider doughnuts (they are so good!) and hot apple cider.
