My family eats a lot of pasta. Whether it’s the main course or a side dish, we usually have pasta a few times per week. It’s not only economical but easy to make. Plus you can make a lot of things with pasta. There are so many tasty recipes that involve pasta. In fact later on today I’ll most likely make baked ziti for dinner.
I’m all for anything that will making cooking easier, quicker and create less of a mess and dishes. When I learned about the Bialetti Pasta Pot I knew I had to try it out for myself.
Bialetti products originated in Italy where cooking is the heart and soul of most families. Bialetti is recognized as one of the leading cookware brands around the world. They offer high quality products that not only offer simplicity and functionality, but beauty to any kitchen.
What attracted me to the Bialetti Pasta Pot is not only it’s ability to strain water quickly and easily, but also the cool colors. The Bialatti Pasta Pot is available in Purple Passion, Orange Spice and Blue Cheer.
The Bialetti Pasta Pot stands out from other pasta pots because it comes with a lid with a built in strainer. That is not necessarily a new concept. I actually have another pot (not a pasta pot – a smaller one) with a built in strainer, but, that lid never stays on. I can’t tell you how many times I went to strain out pasta, vegetables or potatoes only to the lid come off and the contents of the pot spill out all over the sink. It has happened so many times that I never use that lid anymore. I just strain the liquid out with a collander.
I liked the Bialetti Pasta Pot because it had the strainer lid. Unlike other pots the Bialetti lid actually locks on to the pot. It really does! When you put the lid on the pot you simply give it a little twist and the lid security attaches to the pot.
Having the strainer right in the lid not only saves time but it also saves on dishes. That is one less thing I need to wash (colander). It makes preparing dinner super quick and easy. The handles are also heat resistant so you can grab it from the stove and drain it over the sink without the use of pot holders – except if you have a burner on near the Pasta Pot. We’ve learned that if the handles are near another burner that is on the handles can become hot. As a precaution we always use pot holders just to be on the safe side.
Not only is the Bialetti Pasta Pot perfect for preparing your favorite pasta dish it’s also great for making potatoes and vegetables. Anything you need to strain you can make with the Pasta Pot.
I love how the pot is available in a variety of colors – unique colors too. Purple and orange are not typical cookware colors. I love that it adds a splash of color to my stove top when I’m cooking dinner. I think it would be fun to get a whole set of cookware in the Purple Passion (the color of my Pasta Pot) or get cookware in a rainbow of colors.
My teen daughter already informed me that she wants to get a set of Purple Passion cookware when she grows up and is on her own. She said she could take my Pasta Pot. I don’t think so! LOL!
The Bialetti Pasta Pot comes in a 5 quart size. It’s also shaped like an oval which allows you to cook spaghetti and lasagna without having to break the pasta to fit the pot. I think that is an ingenious idea! Why didn’t anyone think of that sooner?
The Pasta Pot is also light weight and has a non-stick surface.
This is my “go-to” pot. I have used it many times already. I find it useful as both a strainer pot and a regular pot.

I love the Purple Passion! We eat lots of pasta, so I’m sure spaghetti or rigatoni would be one of the first things I used it for.
