I’m a huge fan of Bath & Body Works products. I’m especially “addicted” to their candles, oils and, wall flowers and hand soaps. I have MANY Bath & Body Works products.
Bath & Body Works has introduced a new fragrance to their product line. It’s called Charmed Life. Charmed Life is a blend of juicy guava, sparking pear and creamy vanilla musk. According to the product packaging the scent is suppose to inspire you to take chances, have fun and savor life’s moments.
I have a bottle of the Charmed Life body lotion, made with Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Jojoba.
I have other Bath & Body Works body lotions, Out of all the ones I have this one reminds me the most like perfume. It has a very noticeable scent, not just to me but also to those around me when I have it on. The first thing my daughter said to me when she came home from school after I had applied the lotion was “What perfume are you wearing? Is it new?”. My daughter is always into my stuff, as teen daughters will do. She thought I had purchased a new perfume that she was unaware of. When I showed her the bottle of Charmed Life body lotion she said to me “I need to get a bottle for myself“. She has since applied the lotion a couple of times because she likes the way it smells. I have a feeling she’s going to use up most of the bottle if I don’t have it.
From my teen daughter’s point of view the new Charmed Life scent is a hit.
I like it a lot too, but it reminds me more of a perfume then a lotion. Lotions, in my eyes, are suppose to have a light, barely noticeable scent. Charmed Life is very noticeable, even long after it’s been applied to your skin. I would not recommend wearing an additional perfume if you are wearing the Charmed Life body lotion, unless you are going to follow up with a body mist. I honestly don’t think you would need the body mist at all if you are wearing the body lotion unless you want to touch up the scent later on in the day or before you go out for a night on the town.
According to the Bath & Body Works web site the new Charmed Life fragrance has top notes of juicy guava, crisp apple, sparkling pear and succulent red berries. It’s mid-notes are peony petals, soft jasmine, Lily of the Valley and coconut milk. Lastly the dry note are apricot skin, creamy vanilla, praline, sandalwood and addictive musk. Needless to say A LOT of pleasant scents went into the making of this fragrance.
I smell musk, vanilla, jasmine and sandalwood when I first apply it to the skin. This is one of those scents that seem to change the longer it stays on your skin. Over time I tend to smell the floral scents more (Lilly of the Valley, Peony and Jasmine). Lastly the scent seems to trail off with a light vanilla scent. Not a true vanilla. It’s more so vanilla mixed with something else. Maybe praline.
The scent lasts a long time. I was actually surprised at just how long the scent lasted. I could still smell it hours after I applied it to my skin. It’s very strong at first, at least for a good half hour or so, then the scent starts to gradually fade over time. I actually prefer the scent after it’s faded a bit. It’s a bit strong for me initially.
My husband liked it. He’s not a fan of any kind of scent. Scents (candles especially) tend to give him headaches. He was not bothered by this and he said it smells pretty. He also asked me what perfume I was wearing. He was surprised when I showed him the bottle of lotion.
Charmed Life is available in a body spray, body lotion, perfume, shower gel and other products. Currently Bath & Body Works has a sale on Charmed Life products – Buy 3, Get 2 FREE. That is the current promotion as per this moment in time (October 3, 2011). I’m sure it’s subject to change so if you are interested you best hurry up and make your purchases so you don’t miss out on the special.

I love Bath & Body Works products, but I haven’t tried this scent yet. I don’t wear perfume, but I love scented lotions, shower gels, etc. I’ll have to try this one. Thanks for the review!
