Barber Food’s Stuffed Chicken Review & Giveaway

Once in a while I post “guest posts” on my site. Usually it’s an expert giving advice or offering tips and solutions. This time it’s a bit different. The guest poster is my husband. :-)

My dear hubby is a talented writer. He writes for Dallas Cowboys website called Lone Star Struck. I’m always impressed with his posts on that site.

My husband is going to share with you his review of Barber Food’s Stuffed Chicken. There is also a giveaway involved, but I’ll take care of that part (he’s never hosted a giveaway before).

Without further adieu please welcome my husband, Rob. :-)

I feel a bit awkward writing on my wife’s blog. I write about sports. I don’t do reviews. Kimberly does ask me for my opinion when she’s reviewing products that our family gets to try out. I have to admit that I don’t often provide her with much of a review. I’m guilty of just telling her that I liked it or hated it. Kimberly is the one who likes to go into great detail.

I was asked to review a product called Barber Food’s Stuffed Chicken. I’m a pretty simple guy. Just slap a piece of chicken on my plate and I’m happy. I don’t need anything fancy. Usually when we go out to eat at restaurants Kimberly is the one ordering the fancy meals. I’m normally ordering a burger and fries.

I help my wife out with the cooking. We make a pretty good team. I’ll make some things and she’ll take care of other things.

I like the Barber Food’s Stuffed Chickens because they are really easy to make. All you need to do is pre-heat the oven at 400 degrees. When the oven is ready you put the chicken on a pan and place it in the oven for a half hour. Even thought the chicken appears precooked it’s actually raw. It says so right on the package. It’s important to make sure you fully cook it so that you don’t get sick. I make sure all the meats I eat are fully cooked. My wife jokes that I like things so cooked that they are burnt to a crisp.

I like the Barber Food’s Stuffed Chicken in their Cordon Bleu flavor. It is a piece of chicken stuffed with ham and cheese. I honestly never thought that chicken, ham and cheese would taste good together but it does. They put just the right amount of cheese in the chicken too. I think it they put anymore it would be too much. It’s just enough that you get a little bit of cheese with every bite.

Barber Food’s Stuffed Chicken is available in different varieties. There is a Chicken Parmesan that sounds good but we were unable to find it at our local store. We were able to find other flavors like Chicken Kiev and Broccoli and Cheese. I really like the Kiev version too. It’s filled with a butter sauce. Just be careful when you cut into it because the butter can squirt out. We had that happen once. I’m not too fond of the Broccoli and Cheese. I like broccoli and I like cheese but I don’t like the flavors together.

What I really like about the Barber Food’s Stuffed Chicken, aside from how they taste, is how quick and easy they are to prepare. I love breaded cutlets like chicken and pork but I really dislike the time it takes to bread the cutlets and how much of a mess it makes. We always have to many dishes to wash after we bread cutlets because we need a separate dish for the bread crumbs and another for the eggs.

The Barber Food’s Stuffed Chicken are really easy to make and hardly make a mess. We use a piece of non-stick aluminum foil on the cooking sheet that we cook the Barber Chicken on. There is virtually no mess when we’d done.

While the chicken is cooking we usually make something easy like mashed potatoes or rice and some streamed vegetables. We are able to put a delicious meal on the table in about thirty minutes. Most meals that we make take longer then that because they are more involved. With the Barber Food’s Stuffed Chicken by the time I change out of my work clothes and do a few things around the house dinner is ready to eat.

Initially I felt that the portion size was a bit small. As a guy I can eat a lot. I could easily finish two of the stuffed chickens. My wife tells me that each chicken is an actual serving size. I know what she means, but this chicken is so good I could easily eat two of the stuffed chickens.

I don’t know how many men read my wife’s blog but men, listen up! You can easily prepare a great meal for your girlfriend, wife or family with Barber Food’s Stuffed Chicken. It’s a “no-brainer”. Anyone can pre-heat an oven, put chicken on a pan, and set the timer. Even my twelve year old son could do that.

Our family also received some cool rubs and sauces from DennyMike. It was a Barbecue Essentials kit. We don’t have a barbecue (our condo board doesn’t allow it). We gave the rubs to my in-laws. We did try out the sauces. The flavors were Sweet n’ Spicy and Mesquit-o-Maddness. I loved them. Kimberly doesn’t like things that are too spicy but she liked them too. We used them to marinade chicken and pork (not at the same time). It was really good stuff. I told Kimberly we need to get more.

My final review of the Barber Food’s Stuffed Chicken is that they are easy to make and taste great. Now for the giveaway portion which I’ll leave up to my wife because I don’t know how she does that stuff.

- Rob

I asked Rob if I could snap his picture cooking but he never let me do it. I did snap a picture of him the other day. He dozed off watching football with his Bumble snowman in one hand and his Santa hat on. He woke up just as I took the picture. Ha! Just wait until he reads this post and sees that I posted it. LOL!

I agree with everything he said, especially about how quick and easy they are to prepare and how good they taste. They are actually our “go to” meal when we don’t have anything defrosted and need something quick and easy to make. I have been keeping at least one box in the freezer at all times so we have some handy.

Kraft’s Huddle to Fight Hunger and “Dog Bites” Recipe

I’m not the greatest cook in the world. Not by a long shot. I’m also not one of those people who can take 2 or 3 ingredients and create a gourmet meal on the fly. That would be a great “skill” to have.

I’ve recently been asked to participate in Kraft’s Huddle to Fight Hunger campaign. The Huddle for Hunger campaign aims to raise meal donations for Feeding America and local Feeding America food banks.

Because it’s football season (Go Cowboys!), Kraft came up with the perfect name for the campaign – Huddle to Fight Hunger. After all, football games often bring out some of the best foods and recipes around. Just thinking about a tailgating party and alll that great food right now it making me hungry myself. Chili, ribs, salads, burgers… all those great tailgating foods are oh so good. Sadly, many people across the country can’t even look forward to something like a tailgating feast. Many people don’t realize just how well off they are. I couldn’t imagine not having enough food to feed my children.

This year Kraft Food’s Huddle to Fight Hunger program is on a mission to donate the monetary equivalent of 25 million meals to Feeding America. What a better way to achieve their goal by rallying around three things American are passionate about this time of year (aside from the holidays) – Football, food and of course family.

Did you know that last year the Huddle to Fight Hunger campaign raised 21 million meals through the support of passionate football fans and people in the community. I want to challenge everyone reading this post to see if we can beat that record. Let’s see if we can help raise 22 million or more!

So what can YOU do to help? It’s easy! It won’t cost you a dime and it will only take a couple of minutes. I’m sure everyone can spare a minute or two, especially for such a worthy cause.

All you need to do is “like” the Kraft Fight Hunger Facebook page. Every person who “likes” the page will result in a meal being donated. YOU can donate a meal to someone in need and all you need to do is “like” a Facebook page.

The link to the Facebook page is www.Facebook.com/KraftFightHunger?sk=info.

You can help donate even MORE meals by playing the fun interactive game called “2-Minute Trivia Drill”. It’s easyand you don’t need to be an expert either. For every point earned in a given “2-Minute Trivia Drill” game one meal donation will be made to Feeding America. That means that even if you only scored 4 points in the game, four meals will be donated and that could make a difference in someone’s life.

I played and I earned 50 meals. Some trivia questions were very easy, others required more thought. It was fun. I enjoyed it. And it’s for a great cause.

Can’t you spare a minute or two to help feed the hungry?

Please also consider spreading the word through all your social media channels including Facebook and Twitter. If you could include the hashtag #KraftFightHunger on Twitter that would be very helpful and much appreciated.

Hunger issues here in the United States is more serious then you think. Did you know…

- In 2009, 8.8 million families were in poverty. That means a little over 11% of families here in the US are in poverty.

- In 2009, 15.5 million children under the age of 18 were in poverty. That is over 20% of children here in the states!

- In 2009, 3.4 million seniors 65 and older were in poverty. That is nearly 9% of all people 65 and older.

More recent findings found that…

- In 2010, 48.8 million Americans lived in food insecure households, 32.6 million adults and 16.2 million children. “Food insecure” means not knowing where the next meal is coming from, if at all.

- In 2010, households that had higher rates of food insecurity than the national average included households with children (20.2 percent), especially households with children headed by single women (35.1 percent) or single men (25.4 percent), Black non-Hispanic households (25.1 percent) and Hispanic households (26.2 percent).

- Food insecurity exists in every county in America, ranging from a low of 5 percent in Steele County, ND to a high of 38 percent in Wilcox County, AL.

Sadly most people only think about the hungry during the holiday season. Unfortuanatly hunger doesn’t care about the holidays or what season it is. Hunger effects people year round. My family tries to donate to our local food bank whenever possible. Especially when stores have “buy one, get one free” sales or too good to pass up sales on non-perishable food items.

Getting back to my recipe. As part of this campaign I was challenged to come up with a recipe using various Kraft products. The last time I created a recipe I was a finalist in a recipe contest and had that recipe put up on the Food Network website. I’m not sure if this recipe is going to win any contests, but I certainly gave it my all and did my best to create something. I’m sure I’m going to have to “tweak” it many times until I have it perfect.

Dog Bites

Ingredients:

- 1 box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese

- 2 Oscar Mayer Turkey Hot Dogs (or your favorite Oscar Mayer hot dog)

- 1/2 a sleeve of Ritz crackers

Directions:

Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees.

Prepare the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese as directed. Once prepared remove from the pot and put it into a mixing bowl to cool.

While you are preparing the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese boil water. Once boiled add the two Oscar Mayer Turkey Hot Dogs, reduce the heat and cook until done.

Pour 1/2 a sleeve of Ritz crackers into a plastic Ziploc bag. Using a mug or rolling pin crush the Ritz Cracker up until they are the consistency of bread crumbs.

Place non-stick foil on a baking pan and set aside.

Cut the Oscar Mayer Turkey Hot Dogs up into 1/4″ – 1/2″ slices.

Once the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is cool and sticky you can begin. Using an ice cream scoop, scoop up the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese until it fills about 1/2 of the ice cream scoop. Using a spoon press the mac and cheese down into the ice cream scoop. Next, place a piece of hot dog in the center, then scoop up more mac and cheese into the ice cream scoop (you can either use the scoop or the spoon.

Using the spoon once again, press down on the mac and cheese in the scoop.

Using a different spoon lightly sprinkle some of the crushed up Ritz Crackers on top of the mac and cheese while still in the scoop.

Carefully place the scoop full of mac and cheese (and the dog!) on to the baking pan. If some of the mac and cheese falls off use your hand to patch it back up.

Continue doing this until you’ve used up all the mac and cheese and/or hot dogs. This will make approximately 10-12 “mounds” of mac and cheese.

Use the remaining crushed Ritz Crackers and sprinkle them on top of the mounds.

Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Remove from oven and let stand a couple of minutes to cool down. Then serve and enjoy.

Like I mentioned earlier, this recipe is a “work in progress”. I was hoping I could make “balls” out of the mac and cheese and roll it around in the cracker crumbs, but the “balls” kept coming apart. Humm… back to the drawing board on this one.

I liked the name “Dog Bites” because my “vision” was something you could eat with your hands that you could find off in a few bites. The “dog” comes from the hot dog of course. :-)

I know there are plenty of “foodies” who read my blog, and those of you who are geniuses in the kitchen. Perhaps you can make some suggestions on how to improve this recipe and make it more “do-able”? Your comments and feedback are always welcome.

If you try out the recipe let me know what you think.

Just by sharing this recipe with you 1,000 meals have been donated to Feeding America. ONE THOUSAND! That is such a great feeling. :-)

Don’t forget – “Like” www.Facebook.com/KraftFightHunger?sk=info and play the 2 Minute Drill game to help donate food to those in need.

Richard Scarry Roadway Play Sets (Giveaway!)

I have always been a fan of Richard Scarry’s artwork and books. There was just something so charming and lovable about the characters found in Busy Town. What is not to love about sweet little characters like Huckle Cat, Mr. Frumble, Sergeant Murphy, Mr. Fixit, Bananas Gorilla, Hilda Hippo, and Farmer Fox. One of my personal favorites was Lowly Worm.

When our daughter was back in the late 90′s we purchased many Richard Scarry books for her. Unbeknown to me my husband was also a fan of the series (he used to read the stories to his nieces and nephews). His favorite character was Lowly Worm too. :-)

Whenever we read the Richard Scarry Busy Town stories to our daughter it became a game to try and find Lowly Worm. It seemed like he would appear in most of the pages, but often he was easily seen. For us it became like a “Where’s Waldo?” type of game, except it was “Where’s Wormy?” Our daughter referred to Lowly as Wormy. The name stuck and that is what we’ve been calling him ever since. I almost forgot that his real name was Lowly.

If your child is a fan of Richard Scarry’s Busy Town, or you would like to introduce your child to the wonderful world of Richard Scarry, you might be interested in knowing about these two darling play sets featuring characters from Busy Town.

I had the fun opportunity to review two adorable sets.

The Roadway Starter Set comes with 8 track/road pieces that easily snap together to form an oval. They also connect with most other wooden track systems so you can easily incorporate these sets with other train/vehicle tracks you might already own.

This cute set comes with a book store, traffic signal and traffic sign. Best of all it comes with Lowly Worm (aka Wormy).

The track is easy to set up. Even a very young child should have no problem putting the pieces together.

I was rather surprised at just how small the track is. It looks a lot bigger in photos but in reality is really small. I took a picture of the track with a small (Beanie Baby size) Elmo that I have to give you an idea. Even though it’s small it will certainly provide hours of enjoyment. (Sorry about the cat foot in the photo).

I love the little bookstore. If you look inside you can even see books on the shelves.

I don’t have a photo of  Lowly/Wormy. When the toy arrived that was the first thing we removed. My husband got such a kick out of seeing his favorite Busy Town character. He put Lowly on the bookcase rather then back in the box with the rest of the track set. When we were decorating for Christmas he accidently packed Lowly Worm away! So right now Lowly is in one of the many boxes down in the basement. We won’t be able to find him until we un-decorate after the first of the year.

We also received another set, the Fire Station set. This set is going to be really popular with little boys and girls who are fascinated by Firetrucks.

This little roadway set features the same size track, however this on has an additional connector piece that attaches to the Fire House.

The set comes with a little Fire Truck and play figure (Fireman Pig). You can put the Fire Truck into the Fire House. Inside the Fire House is a little button. When you press on it the Fire Truck shoots out the doors and starts it’s way on the roadway/track. It’s really cute.

I love all the detail they put into the first house, including inside with the fireman’s gear hanging on the wall.

The roof also doubles as stairs/ladders so that your characters can “climb” up and down.

The sign on the Fire Station turns around to reveal the word “Emergency” too.

Both sets are really adorable. These sets can be combined with other sets to form your own mini version of Busy Town.

The Roadway Starter Set retails for $19.99 and the Fire Station Play Set retails for $24.99. They are available at various retail locations. I happened to see them at our local Toys R Us.

Guess what? I have BOTH sets to giveaway to a lucky She Scribes reader. This is PERFECT for the holiday season (they would make a great gift!).

Holiday Favorites with Eggstraodinary Eggs ( $150 Value Giveaway)

If there was one skill I wish I had it would be the ability to bake. Some people are born with the “baking gene”, others are not. Sadly I’m one of the ones who can’t bake to save my life, but I do try the best that I can. My sister on the other hand is a gifted baker. Her chocolate chip cookies are to die for. :-)

I’m sure this time of year many people go through dozens of eggs with all the baking and cooking they do.

Eggs are a big part of my family’s breakfast, especially for the holiday season. My husband always makes French Toast for Thanksgiving morning, and Christmas morning we usually have “Eggs in a basket”, scrambled eggs or poached eggs on corn beef hash. Mmm… my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

I love “Eggs in a basket”. Here is how my mom taught me to make them.

Eggs in a Basket

Ingredients:

- Land O’ Lake Egg

- Bread

- Butter

Directions:

Heat up a skillet.

While the skillet is heating up butter both sides of a piece of toast. Lie the buttered bread on a flat surface such as a large plate or cookie sheet.

Using a small cup (like a juice cup), cut out a hole in the center of the bread.

When the skillet it warmed up place the bread on the skillet. Crack open a Land O’Lakes egg and pour it into the center (hole).

Let the egg cook for a minute or so then carefully flip the bread and egg combination over to toast the other side.

When the bread is lightly toasted on both sides remove from the skillet.

The egg should be cooked but still juicy so that when you cut into it the juices pour out all over the toast.

You can also cook the cut out circle in the skillet along side the “Egg in a Basket”. I used to love to enjoy that last. :-)

I wish I had a picture to show you. Hopefully you know what I am talking about. It’s similar to what is pictured above, but the egg is actually “embedded” into the bread.

Soft boiled eggs with sliced up pieces of toast to dunk in it is also great for breakfast.

If you are looking for great holiday recipes (especially for brunch), Eggs Benedict, Egg Casserole, Frittatas and Deviled Eggs are always great choices.

Did you know that Land O’Lakes also offers eggs? Land O’Lakes Eggs are backed by more than 90 years of experience in delivering premium, quality dairy foods that families can trust.

All Land O’Lakes Eggs are “eggstraodinary,” because they are produced by hens fed a premium vegetarian whole grain diet consisting primarily of whole ground corn and soybean meal, with no added hormones, antibiotics, animal fats or animal by-products. These eggs are gathered at the peak of the hens’ egg-laying cycles, which can make the eggs more delicious.

Land O’Lake Eggs are almost as if you picked them up fresh from the farm.

When it comes to serving your family and holiday guests only the best, freshest, better-for-you ingredients it makes sense to choose Land O’Lake Eggs over other eggs for all your recipes.

If you would like to learn more about Land O’Lake Eggs or other Land O’Lakes products visit their official website, www.LandOLakes.com. There are A LOT of great recipes found on the Land O’Lakes website. I love their “Tips from the Kitchen” section and “Ask Becky”.

Land O’Lakes has generously offered a special prize package valued at $150.00 for a lucky reader. The winner will receive an All-Clad Omelet Skillet, $50 Visa Gift Card and a coupon good for a FREE Land O’Lakes dozen eggs (any variety). Thank you Land O’Lakes!

To enter please tell me what holiday treat or meal you plan on making with the eggs. If you could share the recipe with me that would be awesome too. :-) I love recipes!

Air Your Dirty Laundry ($250 Gift Card Giveaway!)

Do you ever wonder about the origins of the words and expressions that we use? I’m referring to things like “hair of the dog that bit you”, ‘kick the bucket”, “break a leg” and “barking up the wrong tree“.

Another odd expression, but a rather fun one, is “airing your dirty laundry“. I am not sure of it’s origins but I would assume that “dirty laundry” refers to aspects of your private life. Certain things should remain private and kept to yourself. Just like your actual dirty laundry that no one really wants to see or know about. I guess by “airing” your ”dirty laundry” it means letting those privately kept secrets out so everyone knows about them.

I also think that MAYBE “airing your dirty laundry” could have something to do with gossip and sharing secrets. I could picture housewives from the 40′s or 50′s hanging up their laundry and gossiping with a friend about the neighbors.

Whatever the actual meaning is it’s safe to say that “airing your dirty laundry” means exposing secrets to the world.

Speaking of laundry, we’re doing our laundry right now. We live in a condo and our washer and dryers are in the basement. We have to pay to use them (about $1.50 per load). Blah! What I wouldn’t give for my own washer and dryer.

I’m also working with LG on a really fun and interesting giveaway that I’m sure my readers will enjoy. Keep reading to learn more.

Did you know that LG (Life’s Good) is the market share leader in Front-Load laundry in the U.S. for four years running, and was named most reliable brand for Front Load laundry as well as dryers in the U.S. by a leading consumer magazine? Wow! Four years. That is a great accomplishment.

Families can cut their laundry related energy costs by 1/3 and water costs by 1/2 just by purchasing an Energy Star rated washing machine. The LG Ultra-Capacity Steam Washer with 6Motion Technology would be an ideal money and energy saving washer to have that is because LG’s Ultra Capacity Steam Washer is one of the most energy efficient washers available in its category. It’s roughly 86 percent more energy efficient and uses up to 40 percent less water than conventional top-load.

You could possibly save more then $900 in energy and water costs over the life of the machine. Wow! That is a huge savings.

LG’s True Steam technology uses less water than traditional washers and reduces allergens, wrinkles and odors. Also, LG’s   Cold Wash option enables you to enjoy warm water performance with cold water savings, with energy savings up to 82 percent.

Additionally, the WaveForce technology of LG’s Wave Series washers eliminates the agitator in traditional top-loaders and moves the water in the tub so it continuously penetrates fabrics with high-speed spinning, providing a deep clean that’s also gentler on delicate fabrics.

The washer is powered by LG’s state-of-the art Direct Drive motor, which operates without belts or pulleys, meaning you get increased efficiency, reduced noise and vibration, and a guaranteed longer lifetime backed with an unprecedented 10-year warranty. That was a problem my parents had with their washing machine. It would always go “off balance” after only a few years and it had to be replaced. It used to drive my dad nuts! He would try and fix it the best he could. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. I wish my parents had a washing machine like this when I was growing up.

If you would like to learn more about the LG Ultra-Capacity SteamWasher with 6Motion Technology or other washers that LG offers, please visit http://bit.ly/t2Hxvq (the link is shortened to make it easier).

With a washer like the LG Ultra-Capacity Steam Washer I doubt you would have much dirty laundry to air. They might have to change the expression to “airing your squeaky clean, wrinkle, allergen and odor free laundry“. Ha Ha :-)

Thanks to LG one lucky She Scribes reader is going to win a $250 gift card simply by airing their “dirty laundry”. Thank you LG!

I’m not sure what “dirty laundry” I can air. I can think of a few not-too-scadalous things I can confess.

- I bite my nails. I know it’s a gross habit but I can’t help it.

- Sometimes I pretend to be sleeping to get out of doing things. If my husband knows I need to clean the kitchen or bathroom on a Saturday morning I’ll pretend to sleep in late because I know sometimes he’ll do it for me. That is what kind of a great person he is.

- I’ve done the laundry ONCE in 15+ years. My husband does the laundry (long story). Not only that he folds everything and puts away the towels and his laundry.

Life’s Not Perfect…But Your Deli Meat Can Be (Giveaway)

Most moms (and dads!) can relate to just how challenging and creating the perfect lunch or dinner can be, not to mention expensive. I wish my family would eat PB&J sandwiches every day for lunch because it’s a “no brainer” and it’s a lot less expensive then other lunch time options. Of course I would never do that to my family. Instead I have to try and come up with creative lunch ideas that will enjoy, while trying not to “break the bank”. The same applies to dinner.

A recent survey conducted by Harris Interactive provided some interesting insight into women’s quest for perfection when it comes to meals and beyond.

Here are some interesting things the survey revealed.

-  80 percent of Americans spend an average of $29 on pre-made meals each week.

-  60 percent of women have a hard time creating the perfect sandwich; being creative was reported as a key area of struggle.

-  93 percent of women spend at least one hour preparing the perfect meal.

I agree with these findings when it comes to my personal situation. I’m not sure how much we spend on pre-made meals each week but I do know that creating the perfect sandwich for lunch is not always easy and I do spend a lot of time preparing meals for my family.

Sara Lee Deli launched the “Life’s Not Perfect…But Your Deli Meat Can Be” campaign to promote their Sliced-to-Order Deli Meats and Pre-Sliced Deli Meats.

Before I continue I honestly didn’t know that Sara Lee sold deli meats. I didn’t learn about them until I was shared information about their new campaign. When I think Sara Lee I think desserts like pound cake, cheesecake and pies (I love Sara Lee cream pies!). I never know about their deli meats.

Sadly I cannot find them local to me. The deli that I shop at doesn’t carry their brand. I do know that some stores in my area do, but I don’t frequent those stores when it comes to deli stuff.

Here is a little bit of information about their Sliced-to-Order Deli Meats and Pre-Sliced Deli Meats.

Sliced-to-order deli meats are available behind the deli counter in 29 varieties of turkey, ham, chicken and beef, including lower sodium options. Minimally processed and containing no fillers, the deli meat is oven-roasted delivering on premium taste and quality. The product is available in retailers across the country with a suggested retail price ranging from $6.49-$8.99 per pound depending on the region.

Pre-sliced deli meats combine deli-quality meats with a fresh approach to packaging without having to wait in line at the deli counter. Made with no fillers and offering the prepackaged convenience consumers are looking for, this deli product delivers premium, pre-sliced meats, as well as the convenience, freshness, and resealability of tub packaging. The meats are available in 18 varieties of turkey, ham, chicken and beef, including lower sodium options, and are found in the deli section where Sara Lee sliced-to-order meats are sold. The suggested retail price ranges from $4.99-$5.99; depending on the region of the country the product is sold.

I like that they offer lower sodium options. That is my #1 concern when it comes to deli meats (aside from the price) is the amount of sodium. I try and buy low sodium meats whenever possible.

The new campaign, Life’s Not Perfect…But Your Deli Meat Can Be, tries to poke fun at how unpredictable life can be. Life, as we all know, is NOT perfect. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. To give you an example, one year for a holiday get together with friends I make the most elaborate Christmas/Winter theme cake. I went so far as to “dress up” Teddy Graham crackers with icing/gels and even made an ice rink and trees on the cake (it was 3D). At the party one of the fluorescent light bulbs fell from above the sink and burst into tiny shards of glass – ALL OF THE CAKE! I spend ALL DAY decorating that cake too. Sigh…

Sara Lee made a few fun videos to prove that life isn’t always perfct. I think the one with the little boy on the soccer field is cute and the one with the lady in the grocery store is funny.

Here is a link to their YouTube channel so you can check out the three videos.
