Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked (Giveaway)

Did you know that on December 16, 2011 a new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie will be in theaters? We saw the trailer for it the day before Thanksgiving when we were at the movie theater. I’m just now seeing the trailer on TV too. It’s called Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.  

In the newest Alvin and the Chipmunks comedy-adventure, Alvin, Theodore and Simon, along with Dave and the Chipettes take a luxury cruise, only to become shipwrecked (or shall we say “chipwrecked”) on a remote island. In effort to find a way back home the Chipmunks and Chipettes discover that the remote island is not exactly deserted.

What would an Alvin and the Chipmunks movie be without a lot of current hit songs sung by the Chipmunks and/or Chipettes? In this movie you’ll see the Chipmunks and Chipettes singing songs like Survivor, Party Rock Anthem and Whip My Hair.

What can I say about the songs. They have all been “chipmunked”, meaning the songs are sung in very high pitched, squeaky, chipmunk voices.

Some of the songs are funny to listen to sung by a chipmunk like Born This Way and Firework. Other songs, like Whip My Hair, are equally as annoying as the real thing (I can’t stand that song to begin with).

My kids think the chipmunk songs are hysterical. They always laugh when they see the commerical for the movie on TV.

I think the album will appeal to children more so then adults. I don’t think I could go on a long car trip and listen to this the entire way (maybe a few songs). Kids on the other hand will no doubt play this over and over again, especially because they are popular songs heard on the radio.
