It’s that time of year again. Time to make a toast to say good bye to 2011 and hello to a brand new year and new possibilities.
When I was a young girl and my family made toasts to celebrate special occasions, I would get a glass of Ginger Ale. Children (and those under the age of 21) cannot have champagne because of the alcohol. Although Ginger Ale is a nice alternative for kids, it still seemed very much like a regular glass of soda. There was nothing special about it.
Not all adults drink alcohol either. My husband has never taken a sip of alcohol in his life. It’s not for religious reasons but rather personal reasons. He has seen how others behave when they have been drinking and he has no interest in taking part of that. He’s in his 40′s now and proud of the fact that he never caved in to the pressure of drinking. Even his own best friend told him not to give him a wedding gift. All he wanted was to see my husband take a sip of champagne. We bought him a gift.
My husband was not about to give in, even for his friend.
It’s fun to pop open a bottle of bubbly and make a toast to celebrate the new year and other special occasions. There are alternatives to offering under age guest and family members a non-alcoholic beverage which is just as special as champagne, but less expensive and much tastier too.
R.W. Knudsen offers a variety of sparking beverages to please every one. They offer a line of sparkling juices in bottles that resemble champagne bottles, giving them the look of distinction and sophistication, just like a bottle of $$$ champagne.
Their sparkling non-alcoholic beverages are made from fruits that come from only the best harvest. They do not contain any added sugars, artificial flavors or preservatives. They are simply fresh, flavorful juices with a touch of bubbles.
The current list of available flavors include:
R.W. Knudsen sent me a few bottles to try out with my family. I received a bottle of Cranberry, Blueberry, Apple and Pear.
I don’t normally drink fruit juices except Orange Juice and occasionally Apple Juice. I find fruit juices to be too sweet. When I do have the urge for fruit juice I normally add a splash of sparking water to them to lighten them up a bit so they are not as sweet. The bubbles are a fun “bonus”. I kind of expected the R.W. Knudsen Sparkling Juices to taste similar. They do not. They taste much better.
I don’t know how they did it but they actually turned their fruit juices into something more elegrant then the kind you buy at the grocery store. These do not taste like “kiddie juices”. Not even close. They taste some some kind of fancy drink they would serve at a pricey restaurant. My kids even questioned me about whether or not they were alcoholic because they didn’t taste like the fruit juices they were accustomed to. Even my son said it tasted like a “grown up drink”. However it’s not. It’s a drink for anyone at every age.
My favorite has to be Cranberry.I love cranberry to begin with but R.W. Knudsen’s Cranberry Sparkling Juice taste amazing. I could have drank the entire bottle on my own (I think I practically did). It has just the right amount of cranberry and sweetness. It tasted nothing like the cranberry juice that I purchase from the grocery store. This juice was a million times better.
I was very surprised by the Blueberry Sparkling Juice. Blueberry is not a common fruit juice to begin with. I see plenty of Grape, Apple and Cherry juice available, but rarely Blueberry. It was a pleasant surprise. It actually tastes like fresh Blueberries!
The Apple Sparkingly Juice reminded me of juice fresh for the local orchard – but with a “kick” (bubbles). It was like someone took orchard fresh Apple juice and infused it with nose ticking bubbles.
The Pear flavor was interesting. My kids tell me it tastes just like a Pear, but I didn’t think so. But when I thought about it I figured out why. My kids have only known fresh Pears where as I grew up eating Pears in a can. My mom used to serve canned pears wtih a dollop of Vanilla ice cream. Canned Pears are a lot sweeter then fresh Pears because they are packed in sugar. That is why for me the Pear Sparking Juice didn’t taste like Pear, but for those who have only known fresh Pears, it tastes just like them.
Even my husband liked the Sparking Juices from R.W. Knudsen. He’s drinks mostly water (soda and hot chocolate on occasion). He doesn’t drink fruit juices except Orange juice and he liked the flavorful R.W. Knudsen Sparking Juices.
With R.W. Knudsen Sparkling Juices, everyone can help celebrate and ring in the new year with fruity, bubbly goodness.
As an added bonus – an 8 ounce serving of these sparking juices is equivalent to eating one piece of fruit. What a tasty and easy way to make sure you are getting enough fruits in your daily diet.
