Are you still looking for a gift for your child’s teacher, a Secret Santa exchange or your neighbor? I have a sweet idea! Why not give them one of the Ferrero Rocher holiday gift sets.
I am sure you have seen the Ferrero Rocher gift sets at your local grocery or drug store. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes including a Christmas tree, square and star. They also range in price to suit any budget.
The plastic cases that the chocolates come in are really nice too. I’m trying to think of a way of re-purposing the boxes that I have. They are too nice to toss away.
I think that the Ferrerro Rocher confections are a bit nicer then are regular box of assorted chocolates. When I think Ferrero Rocher I think class and sophistication.
I have been enjoying Ferrero Rocher chocolates for many years now. Normally I buy the the small squares (I think they have 9 pieces if I recall correctly) or the 3-pack you can often find at the grocery check out.
I have only tried the Ferrero Rocher chocolate. Each piece features a whole Hazelnut engulfed in a creamy chocolate inside a crisp wafer, dipped in milk chocolate and rolled in finely chopped hazelnuts. I enjoy these straight from the package, but I actually prefer them chilled in the fridge. I love to enjoy each and every layer, saving the Hazelnut for last. Mmm…
I know that Ferrero also has other chocolates but I have never tried them before. All I really knew was that one was wrapped in silver foil and the other in a dark brown foil (Ferrero Rocher are wrapped in gold foil). I’ve always been curious about what the difference was between them. I finally had the chance to try them out.
Ferro Rocher sent me a delightful assortment of their delicious confections including the silver and dark brown foil wrapped candies.
The silver wrapped confections are called Raffaello. They are made with creamy almond and coconut. If you love coconut then you will go crazy for the Raffaello. Yumm!
When you bit into the Raffaello you’ll notice a vanilla colored cream rather then the chocolate cream like you find in the Ferrero Rocher. And instead of being rolled in finely chopped Hazelnuts, the Raffaello is rolled in coconut. I’m not sure what the decorative toppings are, but they are very tasty.
I really like coconut. It’s not something I would normally go for. I typically like things that are made with dark chocolate. However I do like coconut. The Raffaello’s are packed with flavor and very delicious.
The dark brown foiled chocolate is called the Ferrero Rondnoir. It’s similar to the Ferro Rocher but it’s made with dark chocolate and rolled in dark chocolate pieces. Inside you’ll find an Almond rather then an Hazelnut.
I love dark chocolate so I was super excited to try the Ferrero Rondnoir. I also love Almonds. I was a bit surprised that there wasn’t too much of a difference between the Ferrero Rondnoir and the Ferrero Rocher. The only thing I noticed is that the Ferrero Rondnoir is a bit more “chocolatey” then the Ferrer Rocher.
Regardless of the fact there is not too much of a difference the Ferrero Rondnoir is just as delicious as the Ferrero Rocher.
Of course I cannot tempt your tastebuds and show you photos of the Ferrero Rondnoir and the Raffaello without including the original Ferrero Rocher.
I have seen the holiday gift sets in our local grocery store ranging in price and can work with any budget.
You wouldn’t even have to wrap these. Just attach a bow and a card.
All of these sweet creations would be ideal to serve at a holiday get together. Set some out for your guest to enjoy throughout the evening. Or serve them after dinner as a light dessert. A couple of Ferrero confections and a cup of tea or coffee would be the perfect compliment to a great meal.
