I love all my pets. I love them dearly, however their hair drives me bonkers. Especially this time of year when they are shedding. Six shedding pets in a small condo is not exactly an ideal situation.
I dust, sweep and vacuum A LOT. I prefer to vacuum over sweeping because I hate it when the hair gets all caught up in the broom and I have stop everything I am doing to pull it all off before I can continue to sweep. Its also a bit gross to have to use my bare hands to pull off all the hair and anything else that might be tangled up in the mess. Yuck!
Well now you can say bye by to dust bunnies and wads of hair and debris caught up in your broom.
Introducing Broom Groomer. Broom Groomer is a dust pan with special “teeth” on it that help to pull off and remove the hair and “whatnots” from the broom.
The Broom Groomer stays flush to the floor so that nothing slips underneath it as you sweep the debris into it.
Broom Groomer is made out of hard plastic with rubber accents on the handle grip and a special hole that allows you to hang it up on the wall when not in use. I hang mine on a hook inside the cabinet under the sink.
Broom Groomer was invented by Bill Ward from and is available at Quirky.com. It retails for $12.00.
So how well does the Broom Groomer work? I think it works OK. I doesn’t remove all the hair from the broom, but it does remove some of it. You do have to drag the broom through the teeth several times to get most of the hair and dirt out of the bristles on the broom.
I think the Broom Groomer needs a handle that you can hold on to without bending over. You have to hold on to it as you are running the bristles through the teeth or it will slid across the floor. It does have a place that you can step on to hold it down but it doesn’t always work well. I think the handle part should be longer so you can hold more of it under your foot rather than a small section, especially if you have a lot of stuff to brush off. I think having a long handle might help too. I would prefer a handle actually.
You can see how small the area is in the above photo that you can step on to hold it in place.
You can see from the above photos how to use the Broom Groomer.
Overall I like the concept. It’s nice not having to pull off hair and dirt from the broom every time I sweep. I think with a little alteration (a handle or bigger place for your foot) the Broom Groomer would be perfect.

Ditto.
I am so in LOVE with this product! It’s the human hair and dust that stick in our broom and it drives me nuts! Can you only get this online?
Anne, visit http://www.Quirky.com. You should be able to find it there. I also found it on Amazon and I believe Target might have it too. Google “Broom Groomer” and several places come up.
