Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 and Walmart’s Twilight Tweet-Up (DVD Giveaway!)

When I first heard about the Twilight series a few years ago I didn’t think much of it. My daughter begged me to buy her the book. I was a bit reluctant because I thought the content was a bit too “grown up” for her, but after learning about children younger than her reading the books I figured it was OK.

When my daughter found out that Twilight was being made into a movie she was anxious to go and see it. She didn’t get a chance to see the movie in the theaters but we did buy her the DVD.

Initially I had no interest in the movie at all. It wasn’t until I saw the first move, Twilight, on HBO (or was it Starz?) taht I first became interested in the movie. Now I’m hooked. I would NOT say I am a “Twihard” fan. I just enjoy the movies.

I have not seen Breaking Dawn, Part I yet. My daughter did have a chance to see it in the theater with friends. I asked her NOT to tell me about it. I want to see it for myself and not have any surprises spoiled for me.

Breaking Dawn, Part I will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on February 11, 2012.

The movie will be available for purchase at Walmarts across the country at midnight on February 11, 2012. Walmart will be offering the movie with a very special limited edition collectible wedding dress packaging (pictured above). Also available is a special FABRIC poster of Bells and Edward’s bit day. There are also music videos from Bruno Mars and Christina Perri.

The DVD will be available for $22.96 and the Blu-ray for $26.96.

In honor of the movie’s release, Walmart is having a special Tweet Up Twitter Party on February 9, 2012 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM EST. You can join in on the action using the hash tag #TwiMart and following @Walmart on Twitter. There you can discuss the movie with other fans, answer trivia questions and even win copies of the DVD.

So mark your calendars and make sure to join us for the special Twitter Party.
