Freeman Facial Masks (Giveaway – ends 3/12/12)

I love trying out new beauty products. I might not be a true “girly-girl” but when it comes to beauty products I am in love. I love products to keep my face clean and wrinkle free (well, as much as possible), body products and make up. That is why I jumped at the opportunity to try out some facial masks from Freeman Beauty.

I have to admit that I don’t use facial masks as much as I probably should. I have tried mud masks and facial masks that dry and you have to peel off. I prefer the ones that you wash off because the peeling ones sometimes bother my face and leave my skin clean but blotchy for a little bit after it’s removed.

Freeman sent me a few of their facial masks to try. Well, they were for ME to try but my teen daughter is totally into the Chocolate and Strawberry Clay Mask.

When I first heard about the Freeman Chocolate and Strawberry Clay Mask I was excited to try it out simply because of the scent I imaged it had. Yes, it does have a chocolate scent to it. I’m not sure about the strawberry scent. I don’t really smell it. You can tell there is more to it than just chocolate, but strawberry is not the first thing that comes to mind. My daughter on the other hand insists that it smells just like chocolate covered strawberries.

My daughter was the first one to use the Chocolate and Strawberry Clay Mask. I wish I could have taken her picture. She looked like one of the people from the Jersey Shore. Her normally pale skin looked very tanned, but in a fake tan sort of way. At first I didn’t know that she used the mask. I thought she was experimenting with make up. Thank goodness it was just the mask. She looked like an Oompa Loompa. Ha Ha.

The mask is easy to use. Simply apply to your clean face, let dry and then wash off. The Strawberry extracts are suppose to minimize pours and the Shea and Cocoa Butters help to leave your skin moisturized and soft. I’m not sure about minimizing pours (never really noticed a difference) but I do know that it leaves your face feeling oh-so-soft and clean. To the point where you don’t want to apply any make up on afterwards. I have never been to a spa before or had a facial. When I use the mask I get the impression that it’s a lot like a spa facial the way it makes your face feel so clean and soft.

I also received two other masks to try out.

One mask was the Freeman Avocado and Oatmeal Clay Mask. This mask contains oatmeal which is known to help with sensitive skin like Eczema (which I have on my face at times). It’s also great for dry and itchy skin. I have used homemade masks made with Avocado so I am familiar with how it makes your face feel. The combination of ingredients helps to draw out dirt and oil from your skin leaving your skin SUPER clean feeling. It’s true. Your face does feel incredibly clean. I love that clean feeling. I find it refreshing.

The scent of the mask is really nice too.

The other mask I tried out was the Freeman Cucumber Peel-Off Mask. Unlike other peel off masks that I have tried in the past this one was pretty easy to remove and didn’t leave blotchy red marks on my face.

This mask (which smells awesome!) you have to leave on your face for about 10 minutes. Your face will start to feel a bit stiff. That is the mask “hardening” on your face so it’s easy to peel off.

I found that it peeled off pretty easily. Some peel off masks I’ve tried on the past only peel off in small sheets. With this mask I was able to peel off larger sections at a time.

I did feel the need to splash my face with cold water and put on a moisturizer afterwards. The mask make my face feel a bit stiff after I removed it. Once I refreshed my face with some water and moisturizer my skin felt really good. I liken this mask to those nose strips you can buy to remove blackheads and dirt from your pour, except this is for your entire face.

Off all the masks this was my least favorite, only because it was a peel off (I prefer the kind you wash off). Still, it did leave my skin feeling so incredibly clean. It’s a nice feeling.
