I have two children. My daughter is 15 and my son will be 13 in a few short months. Both of my kids are dealing with something most teens have to deal with – acne! As much as they complain about it I always tell them that it’s just a normal part of being a teen. I’ve never met a teen that didn’t have to deal with acne and those occasional pimples that show up in the wrong place or the wrong time. I’m sure you know what I mean? The pimples that show up in the middle of your face the morning of the school dance. LOL!
My husband and I also have to deal with occasional breakouts. Normally we don’t use any products on our face. We just let it run it’s course but once in a blue moon I do feel the need to apply something.
My medicine cabinet is over flowing with acne products, from face cleaners to spot treatments. I dream of havin just one or two products that they can both use that work.
One of my pet peeves is the fact that my kids use way too much of the products and end up going through them in a matter of a week. Acne products are not cheap so I rather my kids not go through one so quickly. My son is the biggest offender. He uses way too much. We try telling him he only needs a little cleaner but instead he uses a handful. Ugh!

The beauty of the Clearasil PerfectaWash system is that it’s a hands-free dispenser that dispenses the right amount of product. That means my kids won’t use too much of the product and it will finally last for a long time.
The dispenser is very nice looking and looks good on my bathroom sink. It doesn’t take up much room which is a plus. I also like the simple design.
The Clearasil PerfectaWash system came with two cleaners – SuperFruit Splash and Soothing Plant Extract. You can choose which one works best for you and your skin type. Refills are available as well.
Setting up the system is easy. Simply insert the cleaner of your choice into the back of the dispenser, remove the tab that covers the batteries (which are included) and place the dispenser on your sink or counter. When you are ready to use it flip the switch on the back to “on” so the dispenser can dispense the cleaner. When you are ready to use it place your hand or wash cloth under the dispenser. A light sensor will know that your hand is there and dispense the product. Then you just need to wash your face like you normally would. You can’t get any easier than that!
You might have to play around with the location of the dispenser. If you place it too close to the faucet or other products you use on the countr (like soap) the dispenser might pick up the shadow of your hand and dispense the cleaner. That happened a couple of times until we found the right spot and angle on the sink to place the dispenser. Now it’s not a problem. You can always flip the switch to “off” too in order to prevent accidental dispensing of the cleaner.
My kids love using this system. It’s so easy to use. I found that they have been washing their faces more since getting the system. I have always told them to wash their face morning and night. They tend to neglect washing in the morning but I found both my kids using the system usually twice a day.
My daughter commented on how much her complextion has cleared up. I have to admit it looks a lot better. She used to have a lot of acne on her forehead but it’s not that bad anymore. What I see looks to be mostly marks (scars?) left over from previous breakouts.
My son’s face looks a lot better too. I’ve noticed one pimple near the side of his mouth but other than that his face looks pretty good.
I have been usin the cleanser too. My face has been free of breakouts but I still need to make sure my face is cleaned of oil, dirt and make up to keep my pores from getting clogged up and creating breakouts.
We’ve tried both formulas – SuperFruit Splash and Soothing Plant Extract. I personally prefer the Soothing Plant Extract. I like how my skin feels after I use it. Sometimes with acne products my skin burns a little and feels tight after using acne products. With the Soothing Plant Extract my face felt really clean. The cleanser does have a soothing effect and it didn’t make my skin feel tight. I liked the SuperFruit Splash too, but of the two I preferred the Soothing Plant Extract.
My kids liked the SuperFruit Splash the best. I asked them to tell me why and all I got out of my son was a grunt (got to love teenagers – LOL). My daughter just said “I just like that one better”. Not exactly a good enough reason why but I’ll take it.
