If you read my blog regularly you might recall that I enjoy trying out new beauty products. Being a blogger I am fortunate to have the opportunity to try out some products to review. Often many of the products I am sent to review I end up purchasing on my own because I really enjoy them. In fact just yesterday I went and purchased shampoo from the hair salon that I originally reviewed, fell in love with, and purchased more.
I just turned 44 last month. Blah! Even saying that makes me cringe. I don’t feel like I’m 44 years old. I don’t act like I’m 44 years old. Sadly I look like I’m 44, or older. I have dull, lifeless skin. It’s not as soft and subtle as it used to be. It’s just “there”. I am sure many people know what I mean.
I was given the opportunity to try out some sample size products from Beauty Store Depot. They sent me the Dermalogica AGE Smart Overnight Skin Rescue Kit to try out. The kit included the following products.
Overnight Repair Serum – This product is actually an oil. You only need a few drops. You can use it “as is” or mix it with another beauty product. I used it “as is”.
I was concerned about putting oil on my face. I didn’t want it to cause my skin to break out. I was also concerned that I would wake up in the morning and find that my skin was greasy. That was not the case at all. The oil absorbs into your skin.
This is actually my favorite product of the trio. I love how soft and smooth my skin feels in the morning after I’ve used the Overnight Repair Serum. My skin feels so much better when I use this product compared to nights when I didn’t use the serum.
According to Beauty Store Depot the Overnight Repair Serum syncs with your body’s nighttime recovery process, helping to increase luminosity while minimizing fine lines, dryness, and loss of elasticity. As part of the AGE Smart system, Overnight Repair Serum helps control the biochemical triggers that lead to skin aging.
Age Reversal Eye Complex – This lotion goes on very smoothly. You only need to dab a little bit under your eyes. At first you only use it every other night for a few weeks. Then you can use it every night if you wish to do so.
Here is what the Beauty Store Depot has to say about the Age Reversal Eye Complex -
- Mature or prematurely-aging skin around the eye area.
- Reverse multiple signs of aging with this breakthrough treatment specifically formulated for the delicate eye area.
- Targets concerns of the eye area, primarily wrinkles and crow’s feet plus puffiness, dark circles due to hyperpigmentation and skin sensitivity due to dehydration.
- Retinol helps minimize lines around delicate eye area; helps reverse photo aging and chronological aging of skin tissues.
I honestly didn’t notice much of a difference in my eye area after using the product for a few weeks. I know that some products take time to reach their full potential so it’s possible that the sample size wasn’t enough for me to notice a difference. I also don’t have much of a problem with wrinkles around my eyes or dark circles. This product might work better on someone else.
I have to admit that I was concerned the first few times I tried all three products together. My skin did look and feel greasy initially but after a few minutes it all seemed to disappear and I woke up with beautiful feeling skin. I also have sensitive skin and I break out easily. These products did not cause my skin to break out.
I think more time is needed to tell if the products can truly reverse some of the signs of aging and make wrinkles disappear. I only had sample products to work with.
Over all I am very please with how my skin looked and felt after using these products. I would personally continue to use them to see how my skin looked after a few months.
