Many people find that they need to take vitamins and supplements, or prescription medications, on a daily basis. I need to take medication for my Diabetes. I also found out that my Thyroid (TSH) levels are well about what is considered “high”. Thyroid problems run in my family so it’s no shocker that it hit me too. I’ll most likely have to take Thyroid medication every day too.
The problem many people find with taking medications and supplements is that they either taste gross or are a nuisance to take. It’s one thing to swallow a few pills (medications) but it’s another to take handfuls of vitamins and supplements to swallow too.
I have had gummy vitamins and calcium chews in the past. I find that they are much easier to tolerate then huge pills. Plus in a way it makes me feel like a kid again chewy on a gummy vitamin or chocolate flavored calcium chew.
For the past several weeks I’ve been eating Gummy Owls.
Gummy Owls are sugar free gummies powered by a yam super fiber (konjac mannan) clinically proven to safely reduce body weight and fat in adults and children (ages 12 and up). It’s the only dietary fiber approved for weight loss by the European Food Safety Authority (an agency of the European Union), and Dr. Oz calls it “nature’s get skinny sponge,” because it “sucks up your hunger” (http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/best-appetite-suppressants-pt-1).
Gummy Owls are naturally fat free, salt free, stimulant free, herb free, gluten free, and have just 4 calories per 3.6 gram piece. They come in 180-count and 36-count resealable pouches and meet the need for a family friendly alternative for safe and healthy weight loss support.
Gummy Owls are supposed to help with weight loss. It is recommended that you consume 3-5 Gummy Owls 30 minutes before each meal. As per their website you can safely lose up to 1 pound per week along with a healthy diet and exercise. To be honest I have not noticed a difference in my weight. I did weigh less than I thought I did when I went to the doctor’s a few weeks ago, but I cannot necessarily contribute that to the Gummy Owls.
Gummy Owls did get a positive review at HealthCentral.com from the leading obesity/diabetes blogger, Dave Mendosa (http://www.healthcentral.com/diabetes/c/17/152576/gummy-owls-weight).
Gummy Owls are made with fiber which will help to make you feel full and satisfied. Fiber is also necessary to help aid you in staying “regular”. That is a problem that my 12 year old son has. We’ve been dealing with his “issues” for years. There is nothing medically wrong (or at least that the doctor’s have found). The doctors have all recommended that he get more fiber in his diet. Since the Gummy Owls are made with fiber and safe for children I started to give them to my son as well. He likes the way they taste so it was not an issue for him to take them. I give him 2-3 Gummy Owls daily.
I have found for my son that the Gummy Owls have actually helped to make him more regular. In the past he’d “go” on average every 3-4 days (he’s even gone as long as a week!). With the Gummy Owls and ensuring that he’s drinking enough water and getting regular exercise (he uses our Gazelle) he “goes” every day now, or at least every other day. That makes me feel much better about things. I’ve always worried about him and seeing him be more regular is great news.
You can also use Gummy Owls as a snack between meals (east 2-4 pieces). At only 4 calories each it’s a low-calorie option to satisfy your sweet tooth and your need to chew.
As far as their taste, they are not overly sweet. I have had gummy vitamins in the past that seemed more like candy than a vitamin. The Gummy Owls are sweet, but not candy-like sweet. They taste pretty good. They come in different colors. I’m not sure if they are supposed to have a different flavor or not because they all taste pretty much the same to me.
As far as the weight loss goes I’m not sure if Gummy Owls work or not. Used as a source of fiber, and combined with a healthy diet, plenty of water and exercise, the Gummy Fibers can help you to get regular and stay regular. At least that has been our experience with our son.
If you are looking for a low calorie snack that you can enjoy in between meals that provide you with some extra fiber in your diet, Gummy Owls are a good option too.
