When you think about La-Z-Boy, what comes to mind? I don’t mean your teenage son (ha ha – mine is certainly a lazy boy 
). I’m referring to the furniture company, La-Z-Boy.
When I think about La-Z-Boy I always think about recliners. La-Z-Boy is known for it’s fabulous recliners. Growing up my mom and dad both had their own recliners in the family room. Both of them were from La-Z-Boy too. My dad had a leather recliner and my mom had one covered in a soft material that not only reclined but also rocked. We also had a recliner years ago before the kids broke it. I’m not 100% positive but I believe it was a La-Z-Boy too.
I always assumed that La-Z-Boy ONLY made recliners. I was wrong. Very wrong! La-Z-Boy has a large assortment of furniture from recliners to love seats and from sofas to spas (yes, that’s right – SPAS!).

La-Z-Boy has showrooms across the country. Did you know you can order your furniture from the comfort of your own home? I recently did a little shopping on the La-Z-Boy website for a new chair for my living room. Initially we were going to get a love seat, however the real estate agent we spoke to suggested that we not get a love seat because it might make the living room appear smaller. We’ll be listing our condo on the market so we want to living room to look as spacious as possible. Once we move and settle into a house (keeping my fingers crossed for a house) we’ll look into getting a love seat. I love love seats because they offer guests more seating options. I also love how it looks. I really love the sofa and love seat look in a living room.
I still wanted to get some more seating for our living room. We currently only have my husband’s chair and a small sofa bed. What I really want is a chaise lounge (which La-Z-Boy also carries). I figured it was too big (like a love seat) so I opted for a new chair. After all, my hubby has his own special chair. I want one too!
The La-Z-Boy website has almost 50 chairs to choose from, and that is not including recliners. My first task was to decide what kind of chair did I want. Did I want a big fluffy chair like my husband has, or did I want a chair and a half? I also had to decide if I wanted my chair to be stationary or did I want it to swivel or rock? La-Z-Boy has so many options to choose from.
I was leaning towards the Daphne Chair and a Half, that is until I noticed another Daphne style chair called the Daphne Supreme Comfort Twin Sleeper Chair. Not only is it a wide chair (similar to the chair and a half) but it also doubles as a twin size BED!
We’ll be moving to a house soon (well, ideally anyway). I cannot wait for people to come and visit us. I would love to be able to offer a place to sleep for my guests. Currently we’re only looking at 3 bedrooms (which is all we can afford). I would love four bedrooms so we can have guests stay over. Since that might not happen the Twin Sleeper Chair is perfect. By day it’s a lovely chair. By night it’s a bed.

Narrowing down what chair I wanted was hard enough because there were so many great options. I think it was even harder to pick out the fabric, design and color. It took my husband and I DAYS to narrow it down. I have never seen THAT MANY CHOICES before. They have just about every color and design imaginable. La-Z-Boy has over 900 fabric and 100 leather options.
My husband and I agreed that we wanted to stick with a single color and not a pattern. Since we’re not sure what color our new home will be, or what color we’ll paint it, we figured the more neutral the better. My husband looked for colors in the brown family. My favorite color is green. Our current wall color is green, my husband’s chair is green and our curtains are green. The sofa is a light tan color.
I like the idea of having a chair that is a different color or pattern than the rest of the furniture. I think it adds a touch of style to any room.
After days of debating on what to get I finally won out. We’re getting a green colored chair. The chair also comes with a pillow. I selected one with a funky design to add a splash of color to our living room.

I ordered my chair about a week ago. I don’t know when it will arrive since it’s being custom made with the fabric and color of my choice. I hope it will arrive soon! I’m anxious to try it out. It looks so comfy.

When we finally have a house I want to design a living room or family room similar to the ones above. I like that I can order the pieces I want from La-Z-Boy, and I can have them created with the color, designs and fabrics I want. I don’t want a “cookie cutter” room. I want my rooms to stand out and be unique. I want them to have that “WOW factor”.
I hope my new chair arrives in the next couple of weeks. When it does I’ll be sure to take some pictures and share my review with you. So far I’m pleased with my shopping experience at La-Z-Boy.
