I love it that more and more companies are utilizing Pinterest as a way to reach out to their customers. If you are not currently on Pinterest I would highly recommend it. It’s very “addicting”. One could go crazy pinning all the cool things you can find there.
Lands’ End is currently holding a contest on Pinterest called “It’s in the Bag”. I thought my readers would be interested in learning more about it.
Here are the details.
Lands’ End has long been a trusted source for the best women’s beach essentials, including swimwear, cover-ups, towels, sandals, hats – and especially great totes to carry it all. This summer, Lands’ End makes it even easier to pack for a day at the beach. The company is partnering with Random House to offer women a hot new summer beach read – “Summer Breeze” by New York Times bestselling author Nancy Thayer. Women can shop the “It’s in the Bag” collection at www.LandsEnd.com/ItsintheBag. To help women jumpstart their summer beach adventures, Lands’ End and Random House are offering fans two ways to win.
From June 12-19, Lands’ End will host the “It’s in the Bag” Pinterest contest that asks fans to pin their ultimate beach bag items for a chance to win. In addition, now through July 8, fans can enter for a chance to win fabulous finds for their beach bags in the iVillage Summer Breeze Sweepstakes.
“Spending a relaxing day at the beach is even more enjoyable when all the key items you need are at your fingertips,” explained Erin McCormick, swimwear merchandise manager for Lands’ End.
McCormick recommends beach-goers choose a tote that’s generously sized to hold all the necessary items, such as the Rope Handle Tote Bag ($60). Then choose a versatile cover-up, like the Lightweight Jersey Cover-up Dress ($35), that looks great for stops on the way to and from the beach. Adding the Wide Brim Straw Hat ($60) is a smart way to keep faces shaded during sunny summer days.
“Picking a great summer beach read can be just as important as finding the perfect swimsuit,” McCormick continued. “We know ‘Summer Breeze’ will be a staple in many beach bags this summer and can’t wait to hear what other items will be our fans’ favorites.”

This should be a pretty easy contest. I’m sure most people have a lot of great essentials in their beach bags.
My beach bag always includes the following “must haves” – baby powder (it’s great to keep sand from sticking to you), comb, spray conditioner (nothing worst than trying to comb sea salted hair), sunscreen (a lot of sunscreen!), non-perishable snacks (fruit, nuts, trail mix), reusable water bottles filled with ice (that way you have cold water longer), money (for ice cream or something to eat), a good book, my camera (with extra batteries) and aloe (for over exposed or burned skin).
So tell me, what is in YOUR beach bag? What “must haves” do you keep in it all the time? I would love to hear from my readers.
Kimberly
