I have a really nice jewelry collection. I have pieces that were given to me as a gift or handed down to me from my grandmother, great-grandmother and my great-great-aunt. Almost every piece I own has some kind of a memory attached to it or it has some kind of special meaning to me.
I love whimsical jewelry. Don’t get me wrong, I love “bling” too, but my style tends to be more whimsical and fun.
I was approached by a jewelry company called Lily Charmed to check out their lovely jewelry. From the moment I landed on their home page I knew I was going to fall in love with their jewelry. The jewelry is fun, whimsical, simple and best of all YOU can customize it just about any way you’d like.
Creating your own Lily Charmed design is easy to do. The first thing you need to do is pick out what kind of chain you want for your necklace. Lily Charmed gives you several options. You can either choose from Sterling Silver or from one of several colorful cords.
After you picked out the chain or cord for your necklace comes the fun part. You get to pick out what charm or charms you want for your necklace. You can move them around and arrange them any way you want. There are so many to choose from including hearts, butterflies, a tree of life, sea shells, children, feathers and many more.
Once your necklace is designed you can personalize it with a special message. The message does not appear on the necklace it’s self. The message appears on a special window card that houses your necklace. It’s a lot like a greeting card. That is why Lily Charmed jewelry makes a great gift. You can wish someone a “Happy Birthday”, “Happy Anniversary”, “Congratulations” or any other special sentiment. There is also room for a brief quote or other special message on the card too.
If you find that you are having a hard time designing your necklace (there are so many pretty charms to choose from!), or if you want to order something ready made, Lily Charmed as a nice selection of pre-made necklace designs. They are arranged by occasion such as Birthday, New Baby, New Home and Love, for example. They are also divided up by recipient such as daughter, friend, grandparent, bridesmaid and so forth. You can even find pre-made designs based on the recipeient’s interests such as music, the sea or travel, to name a few.
Each pre-made design comes with a pre-written sentiment too. You are free to change the message to something else if the sentiment doesn’t fit the person or occasion the gift is for. I love some of the expressions on the pre-made designs. They are very lovely. Personally I think going with the pre-made gift is easier because I’m often at a loss for words (yes, even a blogger can be at a loss for words 
).
I have a Lily Charmed necklace that was sent to me to review. Mine features a delicate little butterfly because I love butterflies and someone gave me the nickname “My Precious Butterfly”, so I felt choosing the butterfly was appropriate. I also have dangling fresh water pearls. I think they add a little something special to the overall design.
The chain is a very good length for me. I have a thick neck. I cannot wear 16″ necklaces. They have to be a minimum of 18″. This beautiful little necklace is the perfect length for me. The chain is a nice thickness too. It’s thin but not so thin that you have to worry about it breaking. I’ve worn mine a few times, even getting my hair caught in it once, and I didn’t feel worried about it breaking.
I love my sweet little Lily Charmed necklace. It can be dressed up or dressed down. I wear mine mostly when I’m dressed casually but I could easily wear this with a fancy dress too.
The company is in the UK but they ship worldwide. If you click on the American flag in the top right corner of their home page you can see the jewelry with US dollar prices. The pre-made necklaces range in price from around $40-$50. Necklaces you design yourself will range in price depending on how many charms you use and which charms you select.
