New Apple Cinnamon Chex (Giveaway ends 6/20/12)

I love Chex cereal. Most people associate Chex with Chex Mix, which is great, but it’s also a cereal that you can enjoy every day, year round. I like that Chex cereals are simple, uncomplicated cereals. They don’t have “bells and whistles” (nuts, fruits, oat crunchy things…). They are just plain, delicious cereals. You can easily “dress” them up with the addition of fruits (banana, strawberries, blueberries…) if you want.

FYI… Chex cereals make great toppings for ice cream and yogurt.

I do enjoy Chex Mix. My favorite Chex recipe is Muddy Buddies made with chocolate and peanut butter.

Chex will be releasing a new flavor this July. It’s the new Apple Cinnamon Chex, or as my son calls is “Autumn in a bowl“.

We received a box of Apple Cinnamon Chex to try out and for me to do a review. I was expecting the flavor to be more cinnamon than apple but I was wrong. It’s the perfect blend of both flavors. If you like apple you will love this flavor.

When my kids both tried the cereal for breakfast one morning my son told me that it tasted like “Autumn in a bowl“. When I asked him to clarify what he meant by that statement he said that the smell and taste remind him of the fall. He said he could picture things like apple picking, eating apple pie and the apple scented candle I like to burn during that time of year.

I know exactly what he’s talking about. There is something about the flavor that brings you back to Autumn. That is because the cereal is sprinkled with real apple and cinnamon, not artificial flavors. I’ve had other apple flavored things that I honestly didn’t think tasted like apple. This cereal DOES taste like apple.

With 130 calories and eight grams of sugar per serving, Apple Cinnamon Chex makes it easy for families to start their day with a healthy breakfast that tastes delicious. It’s made with whole grains, giving you key nutrients, vitamins and minerals. A perfect way to start your day!

Try it on Vanilla ice cream. It is SO GOOD! It’s like apple pie ala mode.

I can’t wait to try this cereal out in Chex recipes. The sweetness of the apple and cinnamon flavors are really going to add a little something extra to Chex recipes.
