New Flavors from Talenti Gelato (Giveaway ends 6/22/12)

Last year I discovered the most yummiest gelato I have ever tried. It was from Talenti. Thankfully our local grocery store carries the brand. Sadly they don’t carry all the flavors.

My most favorite Talenti flavor has been Sea Salt Caramel. You honestly couldn’t tell that you were eating gelato. It tasted like you were eating cold caramel. That is how thick, rich and unbelievably good it is. I LOVE Sea Salt Caramel. Sadly the grocery store doesn’t carry it.

Talenti recently sent me their new flavors to try out. I can’t tell you how anxious I was for the package to arrive. I think I stalked our delivery man waiting for the package to arrive.

The new flavors include:

Simply Strawberry – Plain and simple is how I would describe this flavor. They didn’t try and pack it with “bells and whistles”. They simply turned strawberries into a tasty frozen treat. This tasted like someone had made it from scratch. It didn’t have an artificial strawberry flavor. It tasted like the real thing. That is because it’s made with real strawberries and not artificial strawberry flavoring. This is the perfect summer time frozen treat.

Banana Chocolate Swirl – I had a hard time getting my family to try this flavor (my husband actually never tried it). The idea of a banana flavored gelato didn’t sit well with them. I personally LOVE banana flavored frozen treats. My kids eventually tried it. My daughter liked it but my son didn’t. That is OK. More for me. . This flavor reminds me of a banana split. For some odd reason I think this would go great with nuts, most especially Walnuts. I don’t know why. You can taste the banana in this flavor. I think there is more banana then there is chocolate. There is also a little caramel swirled into flavor, but I didn’t really notice it much.

Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip – This flavor is like getting two desserts in one. First you get to taste the sweet Black Raspberry gelato, then you get to chew on a mouthful of yummy chocolate chips. This is by far one of the best Black Raspberry flavored frozen desserts I have ever tasted. Even without the chocolate chips this is an amazing treat. The chocolate chips are a “bonus” if you ask me. Talenti didn’t skimp on the chocolate chips either. There are A LOT of chips in this gelato.

Caramel Cookie Crunch – If you love the gourmet Caramel Dulce de Leche drinks you find at fancy coffee houses (the kind topped with cream and a caramel drizzle) then you will love this flavor. Unlike the Sea Salt Caramel, this flavor blends the same amazing caramel with a rich and creamy Vanilla gelato. To add to it Talenti put in some crushed up chocolate cookie pieces to give it an added crunch.

Chocolate Chip Stracciatella – If you love chocolate chips you will LOVE the Chocolate Chip Stracciatella. It’s jam packed with the most chocolate chips I have ever seen in a dessert. Often ice cream or gelato will have a few chips in each spoonful you take. The Chocolate Chip Stracciatella is so packed with chocolate chips that each spoonful you enjoy is stuffed with them. It’s more like chocolate chips with a little vanilla gelato on the side. LOL!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup – I hate to say this. I really do. But the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup has replaced Sea Salt Caramel as my favorite Talenti flavor. If you love peanut butter cups you are going to be head-over-heels in love with this flavor. You can’t tell that you are eating gelato. It’s more like eating a chilled peanut butter cup (and that is no exaggeration). This flavor didn’t stand a chance with my family. It was gone in a matter of two days! You MUST try this flavor if you love chocolate peanut butter cups. You will not be disappointed.

My only “complaint” about Talenti gelato is that it doesn’t come in bigger containers. Ha Ha.

What I love about Talenti gelato is that it’s a frozen treat that can be enjoyed anytime. Plus it’s “gourmet” enough to be served at a fancy dinner party. Plus the jars are great to be repurposed for a variety of things. We use some to store our kittens dry food. We also have another jar that we keep our Q-tips in.

Look for Talenti gelato at a grocery store near you. If your store does not carry it speak with the store manager and beg them to consider adding Talenti gelato to their store shelves.
