Tostitos Fiesta 411 – Fun Prize Package Givaway! (ends 6/15/12)

This weekend my family is going upstate to have a family barbecue at my father’s house. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, salads and other goodies. No barbecue would be complete without chips. Chips and dips are a party staple.

We’re in charge of chips, dips, and paper plates. I took it a step further and picked up some colorful “Fiesta” looking bowls and plates to make the barbecue more fun and festive.

As for the chips and dips I’ll be bringing along two new additions to the Tostitos family. They are called Tostitos Thins tortilla chips. These lighter, thinner tortilla chips are lightly dusted with special flavored salts making them the ideal snack to pair with your favorite margarita or Mexican beer. The two new flavors, Lime & Salt and TexMex are only available for a limited time and are sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide until mid-July.

We’ve enjoyed both flavors and I have to say that they are really good and I hope Tostitos reconsiders and offers these year round.

I happened to have a jar of Mango Salsa in my pantry. The Lime & Salt Tostitos Thins were made for the Mango Salsa! It was the perfect combination. You could taste the tartness of the lime with a hint of salt from the chip along with the sweetness of the Mango and the spiciness of the salsa. Words cannot truly describe just how incredible this combination was. They were made for each other.

The TexMex Tostitos Thins were a lot like regular Tostitos but with a little something “extra”. When I think TexMex I think bold, spicy flavors. That was not the case with these Tostitos Thins. The TexMex flavor is very mild. I know my husband sure loved these chips. I think they would go great with refried beans or chili.

You really should check out the Tostitos Fiesta 411 Facebook page. The recipes are amazing. I really want to try the frozen watermelon Margarita. There is even a recipe for Mango Salsa which is great because we finished the jar that we had.
