What’s Next for Pepsi NEXT? New flavors!

A few months ago I wrote a post about the new Pepsi NEXT soda. It has 60% less sugar that traditional Pepsi without giving the soda a “diet” taste (I am not a fan of diet sodas). It doesn’t taste exactly like regular Pepsi, but it’s still pretty good. In fact ever since I first tried Pepsi NEXT I have purchased it several times. I’m not much of a soda drinker. I consider soda more of a treat then something to quench my thirst. I do like to indulge in it a couple of times a week. It makes sense to grab for a Pepsi NEXT since I enjoy the flavor and it has less sugar that other sodas.

Speaking of flavor Pepsi NEXT is currently available in two new flavors – Cherry Vanilla and Paradise Mango. They are only available for a limited time.

I received both flavors to try out with my family and pick our favorite flavor (Cherry Vanilla, Paradise Mango or Original Pepsi NEXT).

I was most excited to try the Cherry Vanilla. I love both flavors, plus I love Pepsi NEXT, so I figure it was going to delicious. The Cherry Vanilla didn’t have as much of a cherry flavor as I anticipated. I could taste the cherry more so than the vanilla. It didn’t taste that much different than the regular Pepsi NEXT – but there was more of a “kick” to it compared to the regular flavor. It was Pepsi NEXT and then some, if you know what I mean? I found it more flavorful than the regular Pepsi NEXT.

I wasn’t a fan of Paradise Mango. I am not a huge fan of mango to begin with. It’s OK but its not something I go out of my way to purchase. I didn’t really like the Paradise Mango flavor. Mango is not a soda flavor like cherry, vanilla, black berry, lime or lemon.

I let everyone in my family try out all three flavors and this is the result.

Me: Favorite: Cherry Vanilla / Least Favorite: Paradise Mango

Hubby: Favorite: Regular Pepsi NEXT / Least Favorite: Paradise Mango

Daughter: Favorite: Cherry Vanilla / Least Favorite: Regular Pepsi NEXT

Son: He loved them all. He didn’t have a most or least favorite. :-)

All three flavors are currently available. If you have the opportunity to try them out you can go to the Pepsi NEXT Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/PepsiNext) and vote for your favorite flavor. Currently Cherry Vanilla is in the lead and regular Pepsi NEXT is last.

In honor of the launch of the new Pepsi NEXT flavors, People en Español’s 2011 sexiest man of the year, actor William Levy, invited Los Angeles locals and fans to have a fling with flavor by serving up first sips of new Pepsi NEXT Paradise Mango and Cherry Vanilla. William Levy was the third place winner on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Levy gave fans two more unbelievable reasons to “Drink It to Believe It,” by sharing the summertime-only flavors and the real cola taste America loves with 60% less sugar than Pepsi-Cola. That is true. Cherry Vanilla and Paradise Mango are ideal summer time flavors.

Pepsi NEXT Cherry Vanilla and Pepsi NEXT Paradise Mango flavors will be available at Walmart Super center stores nationwide and wherever Pepsi products are sold  beginning through September 8, 2012.

Have YOU tried Pepsi NEXT? Have you been able to try out the new flavors? If so, what is YOUR favorite? Feel free to leave me a comment and don’t forget to place your vote for your favorite on the Pepsi NEXT Facebook page.
