I feel like a really bad blogger. I haven’t posted in days (not by choice), not to mention my “needs replies” folder for my e-mail is about to burst. I haven’t been online much the past few days. I feel like I’m so far behind that I’ll never catch up. Maybe if I had 10 more hours to my day. Sigh…
My husband had some vacation days so we took the kids to places like the beach and Boscobel (a historic site on the Hudson River).
The beach was fun. The weather was nice, thankfully. Sadly there was a storm off the coast which brought in all the seaweed. The entire beach was covered in it, not to mention we were swimming in it. We didn’t mind that much swimming in it but it got every where. Especially if it dried on you it was hard to get off.
We also took the kids to Boscobel, which is a historic site on the Hudson River. They do a lot of Shakespeare plays on the grounds under a huge tent. We didn’t go for one of the plays. We just walked around the garden and checked out the beautiful views of the Hudson River.
We took the kids a few other places too (local parks, pool, movies…).
When we weren’t taking the kids out to do something fun we were getting our condo ready to put up on the market.
I don’t know how people with houses pack up their things and move. We have a condo and we are shocked at how much stuff we have. We’ve been donating, giving away and tossing out most of the stuff, however there are things we want to keep. These are things that we don’t use often but we can’t throw away. So we’ve been boxing things up and piling them up in the dining room. Hopefully this weekend we can move the boxes upstate to my father’s house and put them in his basement for safe keeping until we sell this place and find a new home.
On top of de-cluttering our home and purging it of things we don’t need we’ve also been doing things like scrubbing the walls, painting, re-modeling the bedroom closet and a zillion other things. Our goal is to have the place all set to list and start showing by the end of this month. Even with all the work we’ve been doing there is still much to do.
Last week I was doing good with posting several posts then spending the afternoon doing something to get our place ready. While my husband was on vacation we spent most of the day doing things with our family and then the rest of the time working on our condo.
Today I was all ready to sit at my computer and start cranking out posts to catch up on everything but “life” has a way of throwing you off track. Instead of posting all day like I had planned I have to take my daughter to Pennsylvania (I’m in New York) so that she can spend the week with my cousin and his family.
I grew up with my cousins and we were all very close. My cousins Cindy and Wendy live in PA. My cousin Cindy and I used to bounce back and forth between homes. I’d spend two weeks at her house, then she would spend two weeks at my house, then I would go back to her house for another two weeks and she would come back to my house for another two weeks. We did that every summer for years.
I’ve always wanted my kids to be close to their cousins like that. Sadly they don’t get to see each other often.
I’m excited that my daughter will get to spend several days with one of her cousins. At the same time my daughter has never been gone for more than a day and usually she just goes on sleepovers locally. Now she’s going 3 hours away in another state and will be gone for a few days. I won’t know what she’s doing or where she is. That sort of freaks me out. I totally trust my cousin but at the same time I’m a “worry wart” (my mom used that expression a lot).
It’s also going to be a ”culture shock” for my daughter. She’s a ”city” girl. She freaks out when she sees bugs and hates to get dirty. Now she’s going to PA, out in the middle of no where, to ride Quads and hang out at a farm. This should be interesting.
So… I have a good excuse why I haven’t been online much the past several days. Today might be another wash out since I have to drive to/from PA. So tomorrow I’ll try again.
Thanks for understanding.
Now I’m off to PA for a few hours.

I think you’ve had a lot going on, no need to worry about blogging! Nice you were able to take a bit of a vacation!
Hi there! I can tell you’re passionate about the area you live in. When you move, do you want to stay in said area? Or are you making a bigger move?
