Win a signed copy of NY Times best selling book “It’s a Big World Little Pig”

I have always been fond of children’s books. I still have my favorites from when I was a little girl. I used to read them to my children when they were little. I also saved some of their favorite books that I hope to some day read to my grandchildren and perhaps great-grandchildren.

A year or so ago I reviewed an adorable book called Dream Big, Little Pig, written by Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi. You can read my review here, http://www.shescribes.com/2011/03/dream-big-little-pig-2.html.

Kristi has written another wonderful story featuring Poppy, the super adorable little pig. The book is called It’s a Big World Little Pig.

Here is a little more about the book;

Poppy, the adorable, persistent, dreaming-big pig, has a new adventure in store for her: the World Games ice-skating championship in Paris! Poppy is nervous about meeting so many new people, in a new place. But, ever courageous and supported by her family (Emma, too!), Poppy embarks upon this exciting adventure head-on! Poppy begins to realize that although these animals look different, act different, and are from different places, they are all the same at heart. We all smile in the same language! Kristi Yamaguchi is a household name: New York Times bestseller, Gold Medalist, correspondent for the Today Show during the 2010 Olympics, 2008 Dancing with the Stars winner, etc. Dream Big, Little Pig has garnered rave reviews, tremendous media attention, sold more than 15,000 copies through bookscan and debuted at #2 on the New York Times bestsellers list Kristi’s modern content coupled with positive message makes this more than just another celebrity picture book.

If it’s anything like Dream Big, Little Pig, then I’m sure it’s a delightful book.

Did you know that Kristi also has a clothing line? It’s a limited edition line of women’s active wear, Tsu.ya, at select Lord &Taylor stores and via the retailer’s website in September of this year.

A connoisseur of quality, Kristi’s aesthetic was influenced by her years as an international athlete where she was captivated by the most premium looks of the world, from romantic Parisian to bold Hollywood fashion, and the nature-inspired art of Asia. The result is clean lines, on-trend colors, and stunning style. With modern designs and ultra-comfortable fabrics, Tsu.ya delivers exactly what you need to feel confident and empowered.

Managing the double-shift of real-life and motherhood inspired Kristi to build a brand that truly empowers a lifestyle for women. She launched Tsu.ya by Kristi Yamaguchi to do just that – with distinctive quality, tailored to real-life demands.

“My lifestyle is demanding.  As a mother, as an author and as an athlete, the clothing that I wear needs to be functional as well as fashionable. Up until now there wasn’t an active wear line available to me that met those needs so I created Tsu.ya to fill the void. Moms like me know that our attire needs to live up to our standards and to our activities and Tsu.ya does just that – and with style,” says Kristi.

With manufacturing partner The Kersheh Group, Tsu.ya launches in September with a limited 18 piece edition for fall with yoga pants, leggings, jackets, T’s and tops.  Featuring fashion accents and trims, Tsu.ya items are designed for function and style from workout to workday to weekend and fit the bill for today’s woman’s lifestyle. Additionally, a portion of Tsu.ya sales will go to Kristi’s Always Dream Foundation which funds programs that empower children to reach their dreams through education & inspiration.

From giving back to the community to inspiring daily confidence, Tsu.ya is committed to helping women feel good both inside and out.

I can’t wait to see the new clothing line. I’m not sure if they will be available in plus sizes, but I’m sure my daughter will like some of the pieces.
