Eric Carle’s Very Hungry Caterpillar Back to School Giveaway (ends 8/19/12)

Eric Carle is written some of the most beloved children’s books. Some of my personal favorites are the Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See and the Very Quiet Cricket.

Eric Carle has been writing children’s books since 1967. I’m 44 and I actually grew up reading Eric Carle books. When I became a parent I introduced my children to his books which became their favorites too. Their favorite has always been the Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar (published in 1969) is the story of a very hungry caterpillar and how he goes from being an egg, to a caterpillar, into a cocoon and then into a beautiful butterfly. The story is also educational, teaching children about counting, the days of the week and even good nutrition. The lovely illustrations add to the book’s charm and appeal.

There is an official Eric Carle Facebook page which you should take the time to check out, www.Facebook.com/TheWorldofEricCarle.

Many children across the country are currently gearing up for back to school. In fact earlier today my family was out and about getting some back to school shopping done.
