French Toast School Uniforms Review & Giveaway (ends 8/20/12)

Over the weekend we took our children out to do a little back to school clothes shopping. We don’t go crazy like we have in years past. We used to buy them 10-12 complete outfits for back to school time which we know now was a silly thing to do. Children only really need a first day of school outfit and a few necessities like new socks and underwear. By the time the second day rolls around children are already wearing the clothes they have all summer. That is why we tend to wait until the cooler weather rolls around to pick up more pieces.

There are plenty of times that I wish our school had a dress code. It’s not that I don’t want my children to be individuals and dress how they want (within reason of course), it’s just that sometimes I think it would be less expensive if they had uniforms. There are other times when I get a look at what the girls wear to high school that I wish there was a dress code too. How parents could let their daughter’s go out of the house looking like Julie Roberts from the movie Pretty Woman I’ll never know.

If your school has a dress code you should check out the uniform options at French Toast. French Toast carries a nice selection of tops, pants, belts, sweaters, skirts and more. Whatever your fashion needs are, French Toast has them.

Even though French Toast clothing is mostly used for school uniforms, you can still pick up some pieces for your child even if they are not required to wear uniforms. Our school doesn’t require uniforms but my son really likes the collared shirts that French Toast carries.

French Toast sent me some shirts to do a review. I received two long sleeve and two shirt sleeve collared shirts with the buttons near the neck. Those are the same shirts that my husband has always worn to work. Ever since my son was little boy he always wanted “shirts like daddy wears”. Even though he’s almost officially a teenager (a little more than a month from now), he still likes to wear those kinds of shirts to school.

Normally I can get my daughter to put on a “fashion show” and let me take pictures of clothing that was sent to review, but my son is not as easily persuaded to do that for me. My son is nearly 13 – need I say more? The idea of his picture being on my blog doesn’t sit well with him. In the past I have been able to get him to pose in French Toast clothing, but not this time around.

My son loves the way the French Toast shirts feel. He says they are very soft and comfortable. Even brand new he tells me that they feel comfortable – as if he’s worn them dozens of times already. He says sometimes new shirts feel stiff and even scratchy but he has never felt that with the shirts from French Toast.

The moment the new shirts I picked up for him arrived he immediately put on a white shirt sleeve shirt and kept it on the whole day even though we didn’t go anywhere. He did it because he likes how they feel. I also like how they look on him. It think it’s nice that he likes to look a little dressed up when he goes to school rather than wear tee shirts with skateboards and skulls on them like his classmates wold wear.

French Toast clothing is reasonably prices too. Boys shirts are typically $10-$12 each and young men’s are around $12-$14. That is a lot less then what you would pay at a department store and close in price to discount department stores (I won’t mention names but I’m sure you know what store I am referring to). Not only is the closing budget friendly it’s also a very good quality. Of all the shirts, sweaters and even a jacket that we have from French Toast have withstood the test of time. The only time he stops wearing the clothing is when he outgrows them (he is growing like a weed these days!).

French Toast carries school uniform options for both boys and girls, and for young children to young men. You can also find some great prices in their clearance section.
