Move over beer and Margaritas… there is a new summer drink in town!
I love Kahlua. Not so much as a drink but more so as an “accent” taste to coffee, hot cocoa and ice cream. Mmm… Vanilla bean ice cream drizzled with some Kahlua sounds yummy right now.
I usually have a bottle or two of Kahlua on hand just in case company stops by and they would like a dash in their coffee. I actually don’t now how to make cocktails using Kahlua. I wish I did.
I have never tried Kahlua in iced coffee before. I am addicted to iced coffee, especially in the summer months. I must have an iced coffee at least once a day.
A few weeks ago I received some samples of some new Kahlua drinks in cans. I was sent three different flavors: Iced Mocha, Iced Espresso and Iced Coffee with Cinnamon Spice.
First I must let you know that these contain REAL Kahlua. They are not meant for children. My kids love iced mocha drinks. I had to make sure they knew they could not sample the Kahlua.
Mmmmmm!!!! These are SO GOOD! They are the perfect mix of coffees with just a touch of Kahlua. I don’t like drinks strong at all. When I add Kahlua to coffee I just use a small splash of it. With these canned beverages it’s as if Kahlua made them especially for me. They were not too weak and not too strong. They were the perfect blend.
The Iced Espresso had a bit of a “kick” to it, but it was more so the coffee (espresso) than the Kahlua. It was a wee bit strong but still enjoyable. If you love a strong cup of coffee, this is the iced beverage for you.
I LOVE the Iced Mocha! It tastes like dessert you can drink. It has a rich flavor to it. You can definitely tell this is mocha. I could see serving this to family and friends in a glass topped off with cream and some chocolate shavings on top.
I was most anxious to try the Iced Coffee with Cinnamon Spice. I have never had cinnamon spice in coffee before. It sounded really good. It actually sounds like something you would serve guests during the holiday season.
WOW. Simply WOW. I ♥ the Kahlua Iced Coffee with Cinnamon Spice. I loved the Mocha version too but the Cinnamon Spice is my most favorite. It would be great to serve during the holiday season (I’ll have to Google it and see if I can find a recipe), but for now it’s perfectly enjoyable during the dog days of summer too.
What I love about these drinks is that they do contain real Kahlua but they are not overly strong when it comes to the alcohol content. If I didn’t tell you there was alcohol in them you might not even guess there is any in these drinks. You CAN taste the Kahlua, you just don’t taste the alcohol.
What I love about these drinks is that they are perfect for summer get togethers. Beer, Margaritas and other mixed cocktails are so yesterday. The new Kahlua iced drinks are the new kid in town and are sure to be a crowd favorite. There is not mixing or measuring involved. Simply chill, shake and enjoy. It doesn’t get any easier than that.
Pop a few cans into a cooler to chill them for guests. There is no need to drag out your blender or extension cord to mix pina coladas for everyone. Not when you have something delicious and as easy and the new Kahlua Iced Coffee blends to enjoy.
You can find the new cans at many retail locations across the country. They sell for approximately $2.50 per can or $9.99 for a 4-pack. They might be a bit pricey but in my opinion well worth every penny. Also, this is the kind of drink where guests might drink 1-2 and not multiples like they would other mixed cocktails or beer.
