I love taking pictures. I take pictures all the time. I literally have dozens of discs filled with photos, not to mention three external hard drives. Sometimes I take pictures of my family, other times I takes pictures of the places we go. There are also those times when I just take pictures of totally random things because in my “mind’s eye” I like how they look.
I’m the type of person who’ll take 100+ pictures of a single butterfly in hopes of getting that one perfect shot.
Thank goodness for digital cameras. If we all still used cameras that used film I’d be in the poor house with the amount of photos I take.
Sadly most of my pictures are never seen by anyone but me. I do share some of my best ones with family and friends. Sometimes I totally forget about sharing pictures, or I take a long time to share them because I have to re-size them to make them fit in e-mails, or it takes forever to upload groups of photos on Facebook.
Did you know that there is a new photo sharing app that allows you to share photos instantly? It’s called Out My Window. I have heard of the app but I haven’t played around with it until now.
Here is a little more information about the application.
- Take pictures from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and share them only with family and friends instantly across multiple devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, computer, Internet-connected TV, and digital photo frame.
- Control who can see your photos through permission-based albums and an easy to use interface.
- Flip back to a day in your life with day stacks in a photo timeline.
- Stay connected with your nearest and dearest by receiving real-time alerts and notifications of their photo activity.
- Get a head start on your albums by importing existing collections from your camera roll, computer or popular photo sharing sites.
- Send photos directly to digital photo frames from within the app.
- Enjoy instant slide shows on the Internet-connected TV version of the service.
I have to admit that I havne’t had a chance to play around with all the features yet. For example, we have a digital photo frame but it’s currently packed away some where in my father’s basement. It’s one of the things we eliminated from our home when we purged it to get our place ready to sell.
I also currently don’t have too many friends and family members connected with it who use an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to take photos. Currently only my children (hubby doesn’t even have an iPhone yet). Once I have more time I’m going to see which of my extended family members and friends have an Apple device so that we can all “hook up” in the Out My Window app.
I like that I can control who sees my photos and who can’t. It’s similar to Facebook where you can control who sees your photos and posts. Not that I have anything to hide but I’m not exactly fond of having my picture taken so I rather not share pictures I’m in with the world, just my immediate family.
Check out this brief video that tells you more about the Out My Window application.
Best of all the app is FREE!
To learn more please visit www.OutMyWindow.com. If you are ready to download the app you can find it on the iTunes store, http://bit.ly/Oz482n (I shorted the link).
You can also find Out My Window on Facebook and Twitter too.
I have a fun giveaway that would go along great with the Out My Window app. The prize is a Ceiva Digital Photo Frame PLUS one year of service. I’m sorry that I don’t have a photo of the frame, but I know their frames range from $127.99 – $147.99. Yearly service ranges from $6.95/mo – $9.95/mo. so this prize package is worth a lot.
The photo frames are really cool because anyone can send you photos directly to the frame rather than e-mail them to you. You can learn more at www.Ceiva.com.
This giveaway is open to US residents only and will end on August 20, 2012 at 12:01 AM (EST). The winner will be chosen at random using a random number generator from all eligible entries. The winner must reply within three days or a new winner will be chosen in their place.
