A season of change will change spending

This is the time of the year where things are really changing.  The fall sends the kids back to school, changes the colors of the neighborhood, and means a lot of raking of the leaves.  For some families who reflect deeply on the nature of the outside world, changes happening outside spur making changes in lifestyle too.

Times remain tough as the world struggles to rebalance from the economic collapse a few years ago with many working families still struggling to keep their heads above the water in today’s economic reality.  Money doesn’t flow as easily as it once did and gaining access to a new loan or more credit has become incredibly difficult with lending regulations passed in the 2008 aftermath.  As the summer comes to an end and we prepare for the credit card bills that covered summer vacations, it’s a difficult bill to accept for some people.

In many cases plans are made to go on vacation and budgets are added up to cover the costs but when seeing the total amount on paper, questions start to rise in our heads of how could it be that much owed.  What’s worst about it is spending tends to go overboard while we are away from the real world and the interest rates that our ‘good friends’ at the credit card companies charge us are what cost a lot more on the bill.  Fall often sees many extra expenses added back onto the budgets; this fall will see food prices worldwide skyrocket in one of the worst droughts on record, the last thing families need to go with that is outrageous credit card charges.

As it is a season of change the fall months see families looking to not only pay off the summer vacations but also look for ways to lower the amount for the next bill.  Some choose to cancel their credit card entirely while others will choose to hold off spending anything more until the balance is paid down.  A middle ground sees many families looking to find a credit card with the lowest rate possible to make the bill a little more affordable.  With a little research on what other lending providers may offer, your family can instead of cancelling simply switch credit cards to a provider who dramatically reduces the bill just from a lower interest rate on the balance.

The fall is a season of bright colors and changing winds but it is still a season to enjoy.  Set the worry about money aside by finding ways to keep more of it in your pocket so your family, while raking up those annoying leaves, can have peace of mind about the family finances; up until the Christmas season anyway!
