How YOU can help bring a movie to the big screen

I love entertainment. I truly enjoy doing movie reviews, attending premieres, screenings and interviewing celebrities. If there was a way to spin it into a career I would. If it wasn’t for my blog I would never have these amazing opportunities. In the small town where I live there isn’t much that goes on in the entertainment field.

Imagine if you would that you have an awesome film that you would love to bring to the big screen but it’s lackin one very important thing – the funding necessary for post-production (another words you lack the money to actually have the movie made so it can be released in theaters).

Have you heard of the site Kickstarter before? Kickstarter is a funding platform that people use to fund creative projects, such as films, inventions, events and fashion to name a few. It’s a great way for independent film makers and small companies to raise the money they need to bring their film or product to life.

When you donate (anywhere from $1.00 and up) you are referred to as a “backer”. To thank you for your investment you almost always get something in return. Take for example and independent film by Arriba Films called Ingenious. Ingenious stars Jeremy Renner (The Avengers, The Bourne Legacy, The Town) and Dallas Roberts (Law & Order TV series, The Good Wife TV series). Arriba Films needs backers in various monetary brackets to help bring their film to theaters.

So what exactly is in it for you? That is a great question. Here are a few examples.

$20 donation – A digital download copy of the film Ingenious and bonus features such as deleted scenes and behind the scenes.

$25 donation – A Blu-ray or DVD copy of the film along with the bonus features mentioned above.

$60 – Ingenious on Blu-ray or DVD and the movie’s poster.

$100 – Exclusive Blu-ray or DVD plus bonus featurette and features, a copy of the screen play signed by the writer, 12 exclusive production stills and more.

Higher amounts include tickets to the movie premiere and more amazing “perks”. If you are a significant backer you can even get a producer credit in the film and attend a screening in NYC or LA. That is pretty awesome. I would love to see my name on the end credits in a real movie. :-)

Here is the movie’s trailer.

If you are reading this via e-mail you can see the trailer on the official Ingenious Kickstarter page, http://kck.st/UIaYEU.
