Lush has rapidly become one of my favorite brands. I have only tried a few products so far, but each one of them I have been totally impressed by. I cannot wait for the day that a Lush store opens up near me. I know I’ll shop there all the time.
My blogger friends have always raved about Lush, but I never tried any of the products until recently.
My first experience with Lush was last September when I was out in Los Angeles. There was a Lush store near our hotel. I walked into the store with a few of my blogger friends. I was overwhelmed by how amazing everything smelled. I could have easily bought one of everything in the store, but I was reluctant to buy anything because whatever I bought I’d have to carry back home on the airplane. I didn’t want to take any chances making my luggage too heavy and having to be checked. In hindsight I should have picked up at a least a few things while I was at Lush. I hope to get a chance to shop in another store again.
Lush is always adding to their product line. Some products are only seasonal too, as I learned with the Halloween products I reviewed a few weeks ago.
One of Lush’s newest products is simply called FUN.
FUN is a multi-purpose bath and body product. It’s a soap, a shampoo, a bubble bath and a toy all rolled up in one product. Not only that FUN is also preservative-free. It’s also a great value for your money and lasts forever (not exactly, but it does last a very long time). It also helps make bath time more fun for both children and adults. Best of all Lush will donate 2.5% of the sales of FUN to charity.
Here is some more information about this truly unique product.
FUN is going to revolutionize bath time. Think a novel, multi-purpose, moldable soap! It’s for your body, hair, bath and fun! That’s right you can wash your hands and body with it; you can bathe with it for masses of bubbles; you can wash your clothes with it; and for even more fun you can mold it into shapes and characters. We had so much fun inventing it; we really couldn’t call it anything else! But the fun doesn’t stop at the bathtub; we’re making it our mission to spread the fun to those who need it most, children living in challenging environments. A portion of the global sales (2.5%) of FUN will go into a newly created FunD and will be distributed as grants to projects providing recreational activities for children living in difficult surroundings.
With a gentle softening base of corn flour, talc and glycerine, choose from five different types of FUN. Or why not take them all, as you’ll need one of each color for making your FUN characters. Bath time has never been so colorful and you guessed it, fun!
There are different colors and scents of FUN.
Yellow FUN ($6.95 for 250g): Creamy Vanilla tones and Gardenia extract gives this bundle a comforting marzipan aroma.
Green FUN (6.95 for 250g): A citrus burst of tany lime and lemon essential oils that will make you feel refreshed and focused.
Blue FUN ($6.95 for 250g): Relas and feel ready for sleep when you wash with this mix of Lavender and Chamomile blue essential oils. The perfect bedtime bath; also great for irritated skin.
Red FUN ($6.95 for 250g): A fruity combination of Orange and Mandarin oils that will revitalize the mind and bring a bit of summer sun to the bath.
Pink FUN ($6.95 for 250g): A sweet treat with ice cream scented tonka absolute and benzoin resinoid, which also has warming qualities to help stimulate circulation.
Here is a little more information about FunD, the charity that benefits from the sale of FUN.
Through previous work that Lush has done with Japanese charities in areas affected by the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster, they are aware that the situation for children in affected areas is still far from what they once knew. The children of the Fukushima area in particular are severely affected – where very real concerns over radiation levels mean that playing outside is too dangerous. Despite decontamination efforts, many school playgrounds remain off limits and outdoor play in streets and parks is not possible. Instead, children are playing alone in their houses on computers more and more whilst exercise, free running and playing with peer groups is severely reduced.
Lush created the FunD to help bring back fun to the children of Fukushima by identifying charities, community groups and parent initiatives that are providing fun-filled, group activities for children in the affected areas.
Lush is working to find grassroots community projects, initiated by locals, who are best placed to know the needs of their children. They aim to provide funds to enable them to host regular events where children can come together and have fun and enjoyment with peers.
Not only did Lush create a unique and FUN product, but they are also helping children experience fun too. It’s a win-win situation all around. 🙂
FUN comes in a large, thick roll. Once opened I would recommend putting it in a Ziploc bag to preserve it’s freshness and to keep it soft.
FUN is the same consistency as Play-Doh, and you can mold it and shape it just like you would any kind of modeling or play clay.
I only have one roll of FUN. I need to pick up some other colors so I can create more cute things with it. For now I just have the Green FUN.
The “clay” is a little crumbly. The more you work it with your hands the easier it is to mold. You can also dip your finger in water and smooth out areas or “stick” pieces together.
Check out a few of the things I made with FUN.
You can use the FUN figures in your bath or as a body wash and/or shampoo. Or you can simply put the FUN back in a bag and use it for another time. You can even break off pieces to use. A little bit goes a long way.
I’ve used this as a body wash (works great!) and to make bubbles in my bath (I may be a grown-up but I still love bubble baths). I was concerned about using it as a shampoo. I have thick hair and I was concerned it wouldn’t rinse out. It washed and rinsed out very well. The only thing I needed to do was use a conditioner. My hair needs it.
Whomever came up with this FUN idea over at Lush is a genius. Who would have thought to create a special clay you can use in your bath and to wash your hair and body with too.
With the holidays fast approaching I think FUN would make a great gift. Children, teens and ever adults can have fun with FUN.
Use FUN to create special gifts too! Mold FUN into holiday shapes (or use cookie cutters), wrap them in cellophane and give as a gift to someone special.
Two thumbs up for Lush’s FUN!
