As you prepare for your holiday meals, don’t forget about beverages too. Coffee and tea are often enjoyed at holiday gatherings and meals. Sometimes people like to indulge in holiday cocktails too.
I’m not big into cocktails, but I do like a few. I especially like a splash of Kahlúa in a hot cup of coffee. It’s the perfect way to end a great meal, or great for relaxing in front of the fireplace (in our case it’s an electric fireplace).
Kahlúa often comes out with special limited edition flavors (I LOVE the Peppermint Mocha!). This holiday season Kahlúa is offering a limited edition Kahlúa Gingerbread flavor.
At first I thought that maybe Gingerbread might be an odd flavor, especially for Kahlúa. But the more I thought about it the more intrigued I was.
Kahlúa Gingerbread is made with 100% Arabica coffee beans and sugarcane spirit. It has a hint of everyone’s favorite festive flavors like gingerbread, nutmeg, cinnamon and clove.
I put a splash of the Kahlúa Gingerbread into a piping hot mug of coffee (regular Colombian blend). The first thing I noticed is the nice aroma it gave off. You could sense a bit of spiciness just by smelling the coffee. The smell alone made me excited to try a sip.
Kahlúa Gingerbread ROCKS (to quote my kids) in a hot cup of coffee. I love the spiciness it adds to the coffee flavor. You can taste the nutmeg and cinnamon and a touch of gingerbread (I didn’t really notice much clove).
You don’t need a lot in your coffee to completely change the flavor and turn it into a truly delicious holiday beverage. Only a splash (maybe a tablespoon?) is all you need.
I also like Kahlúa drizzled over Vanilla Bean ice cream. Regular Kahlúa and flavored Kahlúas all taste great drizzled over ice cream. When the ice cream melts and it mixes with the Kahlúa it tastes SO GOOD!
I didn’t have any Vanilla Bean ice cream, but I did have Eggnog Gelato. Let me just say that the combination is AMAZING! I’m going to have to try the other Kahlúa flavors over Eggnog Gelato.
I’m giving the Kahlúa Gingerbread liqour two thumbs up. It’s the perfect addition to your holiday meals and parties.
Look for Kahlúa Gingerbread where ever Kahlúa is sold. But you need to hurry. It’s only around for a limited time.

Kahlúa Cookie Martini
½ part Kahlúa Gingerbread
1 ½ parts Absolut® Vodka
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and enjoy.
