Prep & Landing Totally Tinsel Collection

My family has several holiday classics that we make sure to watch year after year. The holiday are not the same without watching them. They include such classics as Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, a Year Without Santa Claus as well as Elf and A Christmas Story, which tend to play frequently during the holiday season.

Our holiday viewing season starts off with A Miracle on 34th Street on Thanksgiving Day, as well as Dr. Seuss The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

When it comes to the holiday season we’re big on squeezing in as many holiday movies and specials as we can.

We have two holiday specials that have recently been added to our yearly “must see” list – Disney’s Prep & Landing and Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice.

I fell in love with Prep & Landing the first time it aired on TV. My kids and I watched it and enjoyed it. Sadly my husband had to go into work for an emergency that night and he missed it. It took a whole year until it re-aired for him to see it. As soon as he saw it he said we had to get it on DVD or Blu-ray when it was available.

The following year Disney aired a new Prep & Landing special called Naughty vs. Nice. We enjoyed that one just as much.

In case you never saw either of the specials, here is a brief synopsis of each.

Prep & Landing: Wayne is a Christmas Elf who is part of an elite team known as “Prep & Landing”. His job is to make sure that houses are secure and safe for Santa to land. That means all the occupants have to be fast asleep and everything out of the way so Santa can make a quick entry and departure.

Wayne has been doing Prep & Landing for over 200+ years. He is looking forward to getting promoted and away from Prep & Landing. Instead of receiving a promotion, Wayne gets to train a rookie name Lanny to be a part of the Prep & Landing team.

Wayne is not happy about the situation and slacks off while letting newbie Lanny take over the Prep & Landing duties. Unfortunately Wayne’s lack of enthusiasm and effort puts Santa at risk, forcing him to re-route and not stop by the house where a little boy name Timmy lives. Realizing that his negative attitude may have ruined Christmas for Timmy, Wayne does everything he can to get Santa back and help him land at Timmy’s house before it’s too late.

Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice: Wayne and Lanny are still an active part of the Prep & Landing team. This time Santa needs their help for something bigger. They need to find out which naughty child has been tampering with Santa’s Naughy and Nice list, putting ALL children on the naughty list and potentially ruining Christmas for children around the world.

To help find the naughty child who is reaping havoc, a member of the Coal Elf Brigade, and an expert when it comes to naughty children, is asked to join Wayne and Lanny. The Elf turns out to be Wayne’s younger brother Noel.

Wayne and Noel don’t get along too well, but they need to find some way to put aside their differences to find the naughty child before it’s too late.

Both episodes are a lot of fun. We love Lanny! He’s so incredibly sweet, goofy and lovable.

Prep & Landing and Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice are both available in a special Blu-ray and DVD collection (available NOW) called Totally Tinsel Collection. This Blu-ray/DVD combo pack comes with A LOT of fun bonus features. Included in the  bonus features are two short clips - Operation Secret Santa (Wayne & Lanny must break into Santa’s office to retrieve something for Mrs. Claus) and Tiny’s Big Adventure (Tiny is the cute little Elf you see with Magee – well at least you see his hat, he’s too tiny to be seen otherwise :-)).

Also included in the bonus features…

Behind the Jingle – Grace Potter (who sings in Naughty vs. Nice) talks about her Christmas memories.

Kringle Academy – Do you have what it takes to be one of Santa’s Elves?

North Pole News – A silly fake news cast.

North Pole Commercials (these are funny!)

The Totally Tinsel Collection is perfect for your family’s holiday movie collection. These family friendly short films are great for young children, as well as not-so-young children (adults).

Look for Prep & Landing’s Totally Tinsel Collection where ever movies are sold.
