If you are reading this post that means that the Mayan Calendar was wrong… the world did not end today (thank goodness!). That means we have even more reasons to celebrate the end of 2012 and ring in the new year.
Do you have any New Year’s Even plans? At this moment in time we don’t have any plans, although I would very much love to take my family to Times Square for the New Year’s Even celebrations. I’ve done it once and I think it’s one of those things everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. We’ll see…
If you are planning on hosting a New Year’s Eve bash, I’m sure you’ll want to offer guests some great cocktails. Beer, wine and Margaritas are fine, but this year why not offer guests these unique cocktails.
The first cocktail that stood out to me right away is the Chocolate Monkey. What in the world is Adult Chocolate Milk? That sounds interesting. Adult Chocolate Milk is basically Vodka and Chocolate Milk. Who ever thought of that interesting combination?
Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits sent me a bottle of Adult Chocolate Milk to try out, along with some other flavorful wines and liquor.
I don’t have any Whipped Vodka or Creme de Banana (I’ll have to see if I can track them down) but I really wanted to see what Adult Chocolate Milk tasted like. WOW! I can honestly say it’s probably one of the most unique liquors I have ever tasted.
Adult Chocolate Milk looks like chocolate milk (although a bit on the “weak” side, as if you used more milk then chocolate syrup). It has a light chocolate milk color.
In my opinion this tastes more like some kind of a Kahlua-like drink. I do think it leans more towards a light chocolate taste more so then a coffee taste, but it’s not chocolate milk in the true sense. Another words it’s not like someone took chocolate syrup and mixed it with milk and splashed on some Vodka. But I can still sense some chocolate in it. It’s very creamy.
You can certainly drink this “as is”, or you can use it to create other cocktails such as the Chocolate Monkey one listed above.
You CANNOT drink this in a tall glass like you would regular chocolate milk. Remember… it contains VODKA. A small cocktail glass if the perfect size.
I love how the recipe has some chocolate syrup used to decorate the glass.
I have been trying to think about what else you could mix with this. It’s very flavorful “as is”. In a way it’s like a White Russian, but with more of a chocolate flavor then a coffee flavor.
Another interesting liquor is the Adult Limeade. Who knew there were so many “adult” versions of popular beverages.
Adult Limeade tastes exactly like a Margarita. It’s made with 100% Blue Agave Reposado Tequila and let me tell you – it packs a punch! There is a reason why people refer to Tequila as “to-kill-ya”. LOL!
Adult Limeade is like an instant Margarita. Simply pour over some ice and you are ready to enjoy. I’m sure you could add a little extra lime juice to it if you wanted it to have a fruitier flavor. You can taste the lime, but it’s the Tequila that really stands out.
I would love to try the Adult Limeade in the Key Lime Pie recipe posted above. That sounds SO GOOD! I also think that you could add a lot of crushed ice to the blender and then a splash of the Adult Limeade and make a grown up “slushy”. For some reason I really want to try the Adult Limeade as a slush.
Deutsch Family Wine and Spirits markets quality wines produced by prestigious families from major wine regions of the world. They also market fine liquors too. Deutsch’s wines are sold to the trade with well-planned marketing support and offered to U.S. consumers at fair market prices.
I also received some wines that are carried by Deutsch Family Wines and Spirits including [Yellow Tail] Sparkling Rose Wine, Villa Pozzi Pinot Grigio, Ruta 22 Malbec and Girard Artistry Red Wine.
I’m holding on to the [Yellow Tail] Sparkling Rose Wine for a special occasion (maybe if/when we sell our condo). I had some about a year ago when I had a Bridesmaid (the movie) party. It’s really good! It’s light and sweet with the perfect touch of bubbles. I also posted a recipe that uses the [Yellow Tail] Sparkling Rose Wine. You can find the recipe here (scroll down to the picture of the [Yellow Tail] bottle).
I’m going to bring the bottle of Villa Pozzi Pinot Grigio to my father’s house on Christmas day so we can all enjoy some with dinner. We’re having a spiral ham. I’m not sure if a Pinot Grigio goes with ham, but I think it would. 🙂 I’m far from a wine expert.
I did try a glass of the Ruta 22 Malbec. It has an intense fruity flavor. I am horrible when it comes to describing things, but it seems to have a strong raspeberry flavor initially but then it has a deep, richer fruity taste. It’s not a “light and airy” type of wine. It’s much richer. It has a lot of berry flavors in it, it’s just hard for me to pin point exactly which ones. Definitely Raspberry (or close to it). Maybe even Blueberries.
I haven’t tried the Girard Artistry Red Wine yet. For now it’s hanging out on the shelf with my other wines.
This New Year’s Eve how will you be celebrating? Will you be hosting a party? If so, what beverages will you be serving guests? Will it be cocktails and wines? If so, what kind to you plan on serving? Do you have a favorite cocktail recipe you would like to share? Have you tried any of the beverages mentioned in this post? What are your thoughts about them?
REMEMBER: Drink Responsibly and NEVER, EVER Drink & Drive!

I’m hosting a New Years Eve for the first time this year. I’m sick of going out to bars, and my friends are too, so it’s time to do something different. I’m looking forward to setting up a nice bar area and serving some of these drinks!
