Great gift idea for the music lover in your life.

My kids LIVE for their music. They are always walking around with their earphones in listening to their iPhones. I can’t  tell you how many times I’ve been talking to my kids (especially my daughter) only to have her say “Huh? Are you talking to me?” because she was wearing earphones the entire time.

Most teens are probably looking for music gifts for the holiday (such as iTunes gift cards, docking stations and those $$$ Beats earphones). Teens also like high-tech products.

I have a great gift idea for your teen or any other music loving, tech savvy person on the your holiday shopping list. It’s called the BlueAnt Ribbon. It’s compatible with most iPods, iPads and iPhones.

When my kids (or myself) listen to music off of our iPhones we stick the earphones directly into the phone. In order to listen to the music, or to control the volume and/or what songs to listen to, you either have to hold the iPhone in your hand or place it in a pocket. I can tell you from experience that it’s a bit awkward trying to get things done when you are carrying your iPhone in your hand. Not only that there is always a chance you can drop it.

Holding your iPhone in your hand, or even keeping it in your pocket, is easy to do when you are doing physical activities such as running or jogging.

The BlueAnt Ribbon is a convenient way to stream (via Bluetooth) your favorite music without having to keep your iPhone, iPod or iPad in your hand, or even in your pocket. The BlueAnt Ribbon can be synced with your device allowing you to not only listen to your favorite tunes but also control them with the tiny “ribbon”.

Hopefully I can explain this well enough. :-)

You sync the BlueAnt Ribbon with your Apple device. It picks up the music on your device. Then you insert earphones into the BlueAnt Ribbon and you can listen to your music from the Ribbon. You are also allowed to change songs (advance to the next song) as well as lower and increase the volume.

The BlueAnt Ribbon is small and lightweight. It’s unique design allows you to “clip” it on to your shirt, jacket or pocket. It also allows you to keep your Apple device (such as your iPod and iPhone) safe and secure in your pocket or purse. If you are using the BlueAnt Ribbon with your iPad you won’t have to lug it around to listen to your music. You can leave it on a counter top near you (as long as the device is within reach using Bluetooth).

Here is some additional information about the device from the manufacturer.

With rumors of the soon-to-launch iPhone 5 changing its connector pin, millions of old iPhone speaker docks and stereos are going to be rendered useless. BlueAnt Wireless’ new stereo Bluetooth streamer – the BlueAnt Ribbon – can save consumers from discarding their current stereos. The BlueAnt Ribbon is unique in that it instantly transforms any iPhone speaker dock or stereo into a Bluetooth sound system.

The BlueAnt Ribbon, also designed to be worn on clothing for Bluetooth calling, is compatible with any Hi-Fi stereo/docking station/AUX port with a 3.5mm stereo input. Additionally, it has APT-X audio streaming, giving it near CD quality sound.

The BlueAnt Ribbon has a suggested retail price of $69.99.

I am not always handy when it comes to figuring out techie things. This was super easy to set up. Within a minute (give or take) my BlueAnt Ribbon was synced with my iPhone and ready to go.

The Ribbon comes with a fantastic set of earbuds. Personally I like the ones that go over the head (I don’t like the ones that go in your ears) so I swapped them out for the kind I like to wear. The Ribbon will work with most standard earbuds and earphones.

The sound quality is amazing! The music is crystal clear. There was no crackling or static. The music sounded as great as it does directly from my iPhone.

The design of the Ribbon allows you to slide the Ribbon onto your shirt, jacket, pocket or just about any place else you can think of. It seems to hold fairly well. I haven’t had it slide off as of yet. It stays where you put it. Although I haven’t tried jogging with it, but my guess would be it would stay in place.

You can also use it in your car to stream music via Bluetooh.

The BlueAnt Ribbon is very small. It measures a mere 1.68″ x 1.94″ and weighs as light as a feather.

It has 6 hours of play time and a whopping 250 hours of standby time. You can recharge your BlueAnt Ribbon up to 50% in about 30 minutes, so it is quick to recharge.

My kids LOVE the Ribbon. They fight over it all the time. In fact at the time I am writing this I have no clue where my Ribbon is or which of my kids is using it. They like to take it to school with them too (mostly for the bus ride to/from school).
